Job Description Job Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Paralegal in the Criminal Law industry, based in Detroit, Michigan. As a Paralegal, your role will be centered on managing and coordinating legal cases, maintaining accurate records, and interacting with court clerks. Responsibilities: • Coordinating and managing legal schedules and dockets • Preparing jury instructions and organizing jury binders • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records • Liaising with court clerks for case management • Processing and handling grant programs • Utilizing Microsoft Office for managing and documenting case-related information • Working collaboratively as part of a legal team. • Prior experience as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant is highly desirable. • Proficiency in using legal software and legal research platforms. • Strong knowledge of legal procedures and terminology is required. • Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Highly organized, with the ability to multitask and prioritize work effectively. • Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and maintain attention to detail. • Proven capability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information. • Excellent critical thinking skills, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities. • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel. • Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a team. • Familiarity with drafting legal documents such as contracts, affidavits, and pleadings. • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, attorneys, and court personnel. • Must be able to work flexible hours as required to meet client needs and court deadlines.
