Position Purpose This position provides proficient administrative and para-professional legal support in a competent and confidential manner primarily to the General Counsel and Legal Department, but also includes direct interaction with corporate executives, hospital administration and staff, physicians, board members, vendors, state agencies, outside attorneys and other organizations. This positions requires a high degree of independence, self-motivation, competency, efficiency, and professionalism, and is responsible for communications, which are often of a confidential nature.# # Nature and Scope Duties include, but are not limited to; organizing and monitoring projects belong to the General Counsel and Legal Department; coordinating court appearances, depositions and meetings; organize and expedite flow of work between the Legal Department and outside law offices; establish and maintain confidential files and records; complete data entry for case summaries, litigation holds, contracts and subpoena updates into appropriate electronic programs; perform legal research; assist in preparation and review of#contracts, agreements, and pleadings related to litigation and non-litigation matters; possess#knowledge of court filing dates, various court systems, and their local rules; assist in maintaining corporate insurance files, requests for confirmation of insurance coverage, claims data, and file insurance claims.

, this position requires critical thinking skills to independently interact with other operational departments and initiate or assist operational improvements required in order to comply with law or regulation and/or in order to improve interdepartmental operational efficiency. Due to the wide diversity of responsibility and the need to interact and work with administrative staff, physicians, department managers and supervisors on a daily basis, superb organizational and communication skills are essential.# This position does not provide patient care.

  • Required and/or Preferred Name Description Education: Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English.#An Associate#s Degree in Paralegal Studies or equivalent experience is required. Bachelor#s degree in Paralegal Studies, Business Administration, or related degree from an accredited college or university is strongly preferred.

Experience:


Minimum of 5 years of paralegal experience required; 3 years law firm litigation practice preferred.# License(s): #None.

Certification(s): #None.

Computer / Typing: Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
