Position Information:

  • Organize cases by establishing and organizing files, monitoring calendars; meeting deadlines; documenting actions; inputting information into claims database and case management software and confirming case status with attorney

  • Communicate with outside counsel and other parties, clients, judicial administrative staff and vendors

  • Arrange for meetings, depositions, witness interviews and staff to appear and testify

  • Provide phone coverage and correspondence regarding patient care issues to on call attorney

  • Prepare correspondence and responses to subpoenas, court orders, liens, garnishments and patient authorizations

  • Review powers of attorney, surrogacy, adoption and guardianship documentation

  • Manage discovery requests and credentialing board order process, including working with WakeMed staff to obtain necessary information and documents

  • Manage litigation hold process

  • Assist claims analyst with tasks associated with claims

  • Use Excel and PowerPoint to assist preparing of presentations and training

  • Review and revise policies based on statutes and regulations

  • Maintain the Office of Legal Affairs webpage to include current and accurate information

  • Performs related duties as assigned by attorneys

Experience Requirements:

1 Year Related Position Experience Required - And 3 Years Direct Position Experience Preferred

Education Required:

Associate's Degree Required

Licensure/Certification Requirements:

Certified/Licensed/Registered in Field of Practice Preferred

Hours of Work:

Generally 40 hours per week, 8:30-5:00
