Responsibilities Include: Conducting research on laws, regulations, and case precedents to assist the attorneys with legal documents. Prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, contracts, and briefs for court filings.
Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are filed correctly and deadlines are met. Interacting with clients to gather information, provide updates, and facilitate communication between clients and attorneys. Provide discovery assistance by preparing requests for documents, and reviewing documents in electronically stored information databases.
Filing documents with courts, including electronic filing systems, and tracking court deadlines. Performing general administrative duties like scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and handling correspondence. Assisting attorneys in preparation for depositions, hearings, trials, arbitrations and/or mediations.
Organize, manage and maintain case files. Experience: 5-7 years of relevant job experience as a paralegal in a law firm. Qualifications: Ideal candidate should have the following qualifications:
College degree Attention to detail and organized Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal skills Professional attitude and demeanor Ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously Experience timekeeping for billing purposes. Proficient in all Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook Paralegal certification/training Experience with Federal and/or DC, MD and VA procedures and e-filing systems
