OhioGuidestone is seeking a full-time paralegal for the legal department at OhioGuidestone's main campus in Berea. The paralegal will report directly to OhioGuidestone's General Counsel.
Assist in contract review process corrections, formatting, execution, tracking and management within the guidelines of our standard contracting practices and procedures including utilization of contract management software.
Assist with preparation of position statements, agreements, leases, letters of intent and memoranda of understanding.
Draft correspondence and communications as needed.
Manage and maintain legal contract templates.
Modify, update, and maintain policies and procedures.
Maintain well-organized electronic databases and files.
Perform research (general, case law and statutory) as directed. Identify relevant judicial decisions, statutes, legal articles, codes and other pertinent material.
Maintain corporate documents and track deadlines articles of incorporation, code of regulations, etc.
Maintain intellectual property copyright, trademark, etc.
Assist in preparation of legal and compliance training materials.
Organize and analyze information and prepare written memoranda.
Provide regulatory compliance review of applicable rules, regulations and policies.
Provide support to compliance functions as needed.
Assist in corporate transactions and real estate transactions when required.
Assist in litigation-related matters and organize and track case files.
Respond to subpoenas and assist staff with subpoena related questions.
Review forms and documents for accuracy.
Perform other department administrative duties such as providing information to callers, communicating with outside attorneys, composing and typing routine correspondence, scanning/photocopying, scheduling meetings, and reading and routing incoming mail.
May be involved in the planning, organization, and implementation of special events, specific projects, or program changes.
Exhibit positivity, flexibility and a willingness to take on new responsibilities as requested or required.
Demonstrate positive leadership, promote a team-based work environment and present the agency in the most positive light with all internal and external contacts.
Must maintain regular and reliable attendance to the satisfaction of management.
Must be able to operate a computer and other position related technologies.

Must be able to clearly and confidentially communicate with OhioGuidestone employees, clients, participants, and other stakeholders.
Must work a minimum of 10 hours per month in part time, benefit ineligible status; a minimum of 20 hours per week in part time, benefit eligible status; and 40 hours per week in full time, benefit eligible status.
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time.
Must be able to stoop, stand, walk, bend, and stay upright to perform work.
Must be able to dictate with clients, students, participants, co-workers, and supervisors using all means of communication including but not limited to, in-person, phone, and computer.

Associate/Bachelor Degree in Paralegal Studies, or equivalent education.
At least 4-6 years' experience in a paralegal position, preferred. Large law firm and/or nonprofit legal department experience, preferred.
Paralegal Certificate, preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be able to work independently, prioritize work, meet deadlines and coordinate tasks with minimum supervision. Demonstrated organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
Very strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including staff, board members, external partners and donors that reflect a broad range of diversity.
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace.
Thorough familiarity with the following tools:
Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Adobe Acrobat or similar PDF software, including the ability to combine electronic documents, edit PDFs, and electronically label PDFs
Must have a valid Ohio Driver's License with a safe driving record and valid insurance
Ability to take and pass a physical exam and drug screening
