Are you someone who would enjoy being a member of a busy corporate legal team? If so, this position could be perfect for you! Jack Henry is seeking an experienced Paralegal to join their growing team. This position is an integral part of the legal team, providing professional legal support to corporate attorneys and teams across the entire organization with a focus on customer contracts. This role will work as a part of a team of paralegals and attorneys, assisting with the drafting and editing of contractual language as new agreements are being signed, redlining agreements, and communicating key information to the transactional attorneys working on each contract. Ideal candidates will be team-oriented, a self-starter with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet multiple deadlines promptly with moderate supervision.

Our Legal Department consists of attorneys, paralegals, and corporate legal assistants who provide legal support to the company, including drafting and negotiating vendor and customer agreements, advising on compliance issues, and much more.

This is a hybrid position that requires you to come to the office approximately once per month for onsite meetings, events, and training. The remainder of the time you may work remotely from home. This position can be based to work out of the following locations: Allen, TX; Lenexa, KS; and Springfield/Monett, MO. Compensation for this position will be $22-30/hour, depending on candidate experience and geographic location.

What you'll be responsible for:

  • Generates documents, such as customer contracts and amendments from templates.

  • Researches agreement history for customers using document storage and retrieval software.

  • Prepares contracts under supervision of attorneys.

  • Utilizes custom approved language repository and playbook for inclusion in customer agreements.

  • Composes and proofreads correspondence.

  • Maintains agreement templates and prepares revisions to templates as requested by attorneys.

  • Attends meetings within and outside the legal department as required to support organizational projects.

  • Handles communication from various business/operational units and resolves inquiries.

  • Works on special projects and other legal initiatives as needed.

  • Collaborates with co-workers on customer contracts or other projects as needed to meet deadlines.

  • Provides administrative support when necessary.

  • Be thorough in communication with an attention to detail and accuracy.

  • May perform other duties as assigned.

What you'll need to have:

  • Must have a minimum of 18 months of paralegal or legal assistant experience, or experience writing, drafting, and reviewing contracts.

  • Associate degree.

  • Must be able to travel up to 10% for team strategy meetings or client meetings.

What would be nice for you to have:

  • Bachelor's Degree.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote, Microsoft Teams and SharePoint technology is a huge plus.

  • Experience with Salesforce, AdvoLogix, or similar platforms.

  • Experience with contract or case management software.

  • Paralegal or legal assistant certificate from accredited educational program is a plus.

  • Experience reviewing and amending contracts.

  • Familiarity with the financial industry.
