Overview

Under the direct supervision of the attorney, the paralegal will support Konica Minolta's Legal Team including, but not limited to, administrative tasks, preparing legal documents, maintaining records, conducting research and other projects as requested.

The ideal candidate will be a team player with a proactive attitude and excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills, a strong attention to detail, and a talent for identifying opportunities for efficiencies.

Responsibilities

● Prepare, analyze, and organize initial documents and draft templates for litigation and transaction matters

● Assist with drafting and responding to legal documents including formal discovery requests, complaints and subpoenas, legal notices and other correspondence, interrogatories, motions and summaries of depositions

● Prepare and finalize quarterly litigation reports and use up-to-date digital systems to maintain litigation logs, research, document retention and other required recordkeeping

● Review, draft and/or negotiate contracts, supplier agreements, and purchase orders as needed

● Provide operational and administrative support for the legal team including calendaring, creating agendas and note taking

● Coordinate with outside counsel and schedule meetings between outside counsel and appropriate internal parties and attend meetings as required

● Manage special projects/programs requiring stakeholder, leadership and/or management input as required including confidential projects

● Monitor on-going matter activity and pending deadlines for litigation and transactional matters

● Manage and maintain internal document and record retention databases

● Exercise independent judgment towards matter preparation and initiate contact with clients, attorneys, suppliers and other involved parties

● Assist with periodic review of corporate governing documents and policies and conduct regulatory and legal research to analyze statutes, regulations, legal articles that impact Konica

Minolta business and provide written references and analysis including any compliance requirements

● Liaise and collaborate with other company departments and business teams to collect and process information

● Perform budget/invoice management and processing

Qualifications

● Bachelor's Degree is required; a paralegal certificate from an ABA-accredited program or related major is a plus

● 3+ years' experience in paralegal role

● Notary public - Preferred

● Interpersonal skills, intelligence, and the ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and cogent manner and interface with individuals at all organizational levels

● Detail oriented and high ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced legal/corporate work environment

● Proficiency in Microsoft office, e-discovery review and file management systems; experience with CSC, Ascent, and HR Acuity is a plus.

● Strong legal writing and analytical skills

● Litigation, regulatory and transactional experience

● Corporate compliance or governance experience

● Proactive at handling multiple projects and meeting deadlines independently
