  • Effectively manages deadlines.

  • Reviews file material to prepare discovery responses.

  • Updates file with summaries and/or relevant information.

  • Prepares standard pleadings including motions and settlement documents.

  • Assists attorney in trial preparation procedures.

  • Other duties may vary according to court/state jurisdictions.

  • Exercises exceptional judgment.

Liberty Mutual will consider for employment qualified Applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with the requirements of federal, state, and local laws.


  • Paralegal Degree or Certificate from an accredited college or university.

  • One to three years working experience as a litigation defense paralegal preferred.

  • Strong computer skills including the Microsoft suite of applications.

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, to communicate effectively with attorneys and policyholders.

  • Knowledge of insurance defense preferred.

  • Detail and service oriented.

This position will work closely with attorneys, other paralegals, and clients in a team environment to assist in rendering exceptional client service. Our clients include emerging companies, closely held private companies, private equity funds, venture capital funds, public companies, and financial institutions. We provide finance, transaction, and counseling services for businesses ranging in size from start-ups to FORTUNE 50 companies. The ideal candidate will assist attorneys with full spectrum of company maintenance and transactional needs. Involves frequent client contact. Responsibilities include drafting documents for formation of entities in Oregon and Delaware, board and stockholder actions, maintenance of minute books, corporate records and stock ledgers, option plan administration, and state and federal securities compliance. Transactional responsibilities include due diligence, management of data sites, drafting of transaction documents and managing closings for financings and M&A for public and private companies. Required: This position requires a 4-year degree (or equivalent experience) and a minimum of five years of recent and relevant experience in the business practice group of a law firm or in-house legal department dealing with business transactions. Ability to work independently, efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment with superb attention to detail. Excellent oral and written communication skills, and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of firm personnel and clients.
