Job Title: Paralegal


  • Preparing legal documents, including briefs, pleadings, discovery and appeals

  • Organizing and preparing documents for trials

  • Preparing affidavits or other documents, such as legal correspondence, and organizing and maintaining documents in our electronic filing system

  • Working closely with our Missouri associates to ensure cases are moved forward accurately and smoothly

  • Communicating with clients and following client standards for work product


  • Collections or Creditors Rights experience a plus

  • Knowledge of statutes, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules.

  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.

  • Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

  • Using computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to set up functions, enter data, or process information.

  • Communicating with people outside the organization, representing the organization to customers, the public, government, and other external sources. This information can be exchanged in person, in writing, or by telephone or e-mail.

  • Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time.

  • Keeping up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to your job.

  • Performing day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork.

  • Job requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks.

  • Job requires being reliable, responsible, dependable, and fulfilling obligations.

  • Job requires a willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges.


  • Excellent oral and written communication

  • Must be proficient in Word/Word Perfect, Excel and Outlook

The two work locations available are: 2850 NE Independence Avenue, Lee's Summit, MO 64064 OR 1222 Spruce, St. Louis, MO 63103.</p><p>Key Role:</p><ul><li><p>Identify all possible sources of information; correlate collected information and data to substantiate or refute information presently on hand.</p></li><li><p>Analyze collected information to produce a more complete picture of activities and support investigations currently underway.</p></li><li><p>Collect and analyze legal data and summarize findings into report</p></li><li><p>Ensure data entered into database is compliant with Court Order</p></li><li><p>Perform legal research, summarize disposition transcripts and compile indices and trail material</p></li><li><p>Distribute and receive documents related to cases dealing with asset forfeiture</p></li><li><p>Assist with the drafting of affidavits and seizure warrants</p></li><li><p>Discretely handle confidential material and sensitive information</p></li><li><p>Collaborate with team members to meet client requirements</p></li></ul><p>Basic Qualifications:</p><ul><li><p>Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate required</p></li><li><p>2 years of legal or business area experience</p></li><li><p>Demonstrated skills, based on education or work experience, in the collection of legal data and analysis and evaluation of information</p></li><li><p>Must be attentive to detail since some of the work deals with financial information</p></li><li><p>Paralegal certification a plus</p></li><li><p>Must be a US Citizen and be able to pass a government sponsored background investigation</p></li></ul><p>ASRC Federal and its Subsidiaries are Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employers.
