The Legal Department supports the vision, values & goals of Wells Fargo by providing expert, creative, cost-effective, and timely advice and services to all Wells Fargo businesses and support functions. We operate in accordance with the highest standards of judgment, integrity, and ethical leadership to find creative solutions that best serve our customers, prudently manage risks, and contribute to Wells Fargo's enterprise success.
Works closely with internal and external litigation counsel to defend and resolve lawsuits related to the company's consumer lending operations, with a primary focus on consumer real estate lending. Works with and under the general direction of an internal litigation attorney to assist outside counsel in obtaining documents, information, and cooperation from business unit clients necessary to conduct investigations, respond to discovery, prepare for hearings or trials, or resolve matters through settlement. Also assists internal counsel in general daily supervision and management of outside litigation counsel. May directly assist company personnel in resolving more routine legal inquiries and issues, and may occasionally assist in the preparation of agreements, documents, and pleadings related to litigated matters, according to specified content and format. Also assists internal litigation counsel with legal or factual research, as needed.
