OPENING DETAILS - Monday-Friday, 6 hours per day (.75 FTE) - Work hours: 8:15 am-2:45 pm (includes a 30 minute unpaid lunch) LOCATION: Washington Elementary SALARY RANGE: 39 Under the supervision of an assigned supervisor and direction of a certificated teacher or specialist, uses manual communication (sign language) in providing instruction to individuals or small groups of general education students and/or students with special needs in a variety of learning environments; monitor and report student progress regarding behavior and performance; may assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEP); perform a variety of clerical duties as assigned.

Requirements / Qualifications
Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school or high school equivalency, one year experience working with school age children in an organized setting, and one year of college level training, or paid or unpaid experience working with people, preferably children, who communicate with manual communication (sign language). LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Successful completion of the District-mandated proficiency examination.
Successful completion of District Manual Communication (Sign Language) proficiency examinations. Must obtain de-escalation techniques training and keep certification up-to-date. *PLEASE INCLUDE EXPERIENCE RELATED TO THIS POSITION ON YOUR APPLICATION OR RESUME, IT IS REQUIRED FOR SCREENING PURPOSES.
