Full-time Paraprofessional/Educational Aide (Portage County)

Capstone Academy is an Educational Service Center of Northeast Ohio (ESCNEO) program located in a residential facility in Portage County, serving PK-12 students with profound-intensive intellectual and physical disabilities as well as medically complex conditions.

Capstone Academy is seeking a qualified candidate for a full-time Paraprofessional position for the 2024-2025 school year. Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be willing to get an aide's license through the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce and pass a paraprofessional test after employment.

Main duties may include:?

• Perform a variety of schoolwide activities that support instructional programming.

• Assist students with personal care (e.g., toileting).

• Perform clerical work related to classroom activities. Maintain records as directed.

• Help keep program areas orderly (e.g., cleans spills, sanitize equipment).

• Assist in the supervision of students throughout the day.

• Participate in all required training deemed appropriate for the position.

• Maintain the confidentiality of privileged information.

• Ability to work respectfully with a culturally diverse population of students.

• Risk of exposure to blood-borne pathogens, bodily fluids, and/or communicable diseases.

• Ability to balance, bend, crouch, kneel, reach, and stand.

• Ability to lift, carry, and move work-related supplies and/or equipment up to 50 lbs.

• Perform other specific job-related duties as directed.
