Requirements / Qualifications

Must have completed one of the following at the time of hiring: 48 semester units of higher education; OR an associate's degree (or higher); OR passing score on the paraprofessional exam (exam administered at our office - see receptionist for details). Fluent in Sign Language

A vacancy exists for full-time, Para-Educator w/Signing Skills in our Special Education DHH Program at Tierra Buena School to assist the classroom teacher of deaf and hard or hearing students in all areas as assigned and to assist in maintaining a classroom conducive to learning to ensure programmatic needs are met. Sign language skills to support to support deaf and hard of hearing students and ability to support students in mainstream environments - linking spoken communication to sign. (Grades PS-8)
