Para-Educator
Orchard Middle School
6.0 hours per day / 191 days per year
Salary: $19.50 - $21.89 per hour
DESCRIPTION: Work under direction of building staff to provide specialized intervention instruction for identified students.
Assist in administering specific, appropriate assessments. Coordinate with program staff to deliver services. Attend in-service training and meetings as appropriate.
Provide support in all content areas. May assist with preparation of materials. Other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum AA degree or equivalent or passed PRAXIS test required.
Female required due to locker room supervision. Bilingual/biliterate English/Spanish is preferred. Working knowledge of iPads, PCs and Chromebooks preferred.
Experience working with middle school students preferred. Good communication skills and ability to follow written and oral directions. Patient, flexible, self-motivated, positive social skills and a calm personality.
Ability to relate well to middle school students, parents and staff. May require prolonged sitting or standing. Attendance and punctuality are required functions of this position.
SCHEDULE: OPEN UNTIL FILLED.

In addition, a background check, based on fingerprints, will be requested from the Washington State Patrol & FBI. Employment is conditional based upon completion of the record check.
