BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF POSITION The Peer Assistant Review (PAR) Evaluating Teacher is a part-time position to be staffed by a certificated teacher available to work during the instructional day without the need to released time or substitutes. Service as the Districtwide PAR Evaluating Teacher thus, shall not be concurrent with any other classroom teaching assignment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES a. Quarterly evaluate permanent teacher(s) that are on the Mandatory Assistance program. The evaluations will be jointly shared by the Evaluating Teacher and the principal. b.
Prepare and submit written reports to the PAR Panel. c. Provide copies of reports to the Evaluated Teacher, Principal and Consulting Teacher. d. Shall be present at all PAR Panel meetings to discuss any evaluations requested by the Panel. e.
In conjunction with the PAR Panel, devise a satisfactory form to be utilized for evaluation purposes for the program. The form must be mutually accepted by the District and the OFTSE. TERMS OF SERVICE a.
Terms of service will be two-years, contingent upon a satisfactory evaluation by the PAR Panel. b. Evaluating teacher may reapply for this position at the expiration of his/her term. c. The selection process is independent of prior selection process. d.
Evaluating teacher has no advantage or disadvantage associated with prior service in the program. QUALIFICATIONS AND SELECTION CRITERIA a. Five (5) years of satisfactory teaching within the Oxnard Union High School District. b.
Secondary teaching credential. c. Permanent teaching status. d. Demonstrated exemplary teaching. e.
Observed teaching by at least one (1) PAR Panel member. f. Classroom teaching experience within the last three (3) academic years. g. The final selection authority rests with the PAR Panel.
