ADA Statement: While performing duties, counter areas are often hot with steam from steam table and food vapors. Work space is restricted and employees are expected to remain standing for long periods of time. Employees must prepare hot and cold foods, use Chinese cook knife and other kitchen equipment and work quickly without losing accuracy. Employees may be required to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for up to four hours and reach across counter tops measured at 36 inches to serve customers. Kitchens are hot and noise levels are usually high; storage space is limited and shelving is high.

Aside from our salary of approximately $142,435 to $199,428 an employee within this position will also be eligible for the following: * Automobile allowance of $575 per month. * A general salary increase of 1.5% effective January 15, 2019. * Educational Incentive - An educational incentive of 2.5% for completion of an associate's degree, 3.5% for completion of a bachelor's degree, OR 5% for completion of a graduate's degree. * Executive Administrative Leave - The candidate selected for this position will earn 248 hours per year, increasing to 288 hours after 5 years of service, to 328 hours after 10 years of service, and to 368 hours after 15 years of service or other public service. * Annual Leave Redemption - The ability to "cash in" or redeem up to 100 hours of Annual Leave per year after using 80 hours. * Deferred Compensation - Eligible to participate in the County's 401(k) Shared Savings Plan and/or the Section 457 Plan. This position is eligible for up to a 3% match on your 401(k) contributions. * Health Plans – You are afforded a flexible credit allowance of up to $10,322 annually for purchasing medical, dental, and/or vision insurance from a group of authorized plans. COUNTY GOVERNMENT Ventura County is a "general law" county, governed by a five-member, elected–by-district Board of Supervisors. The Supervisors appoint a County Executive Officer (CEO) to oversee the County budget, day-to-day operations, as well as to advise, assist and act as an agent for the Board of Supervisors in all matters under the Board's jurisdiction. THE POSITION & DEPARTMENT The Director-Resource Management Agency (RMA) is appointed by the County Executive Officer with the concurrence of the Ventura County Board of Supervisors. RMA's organizational structure is comprised of 193 full-time employees and five (5) divisions, Operations, Building & Safety, Code Compliance, Environmental Health, and Planning. The adopted budget for 2018-19 is $28 million annually. The Director-RMA is responsible for directing County government functions that affect the physical environment, including land use planning, zoning regulation, code compliance and building construction, as well as general public protection in the areas of hazardous materials, vector control, food safety, water supply, sewage disposal and underground materials storage tanks. Working together with Ventura County stakeholders, the RMA Director is responsible for building the necessary structures for long term success, identifying challenges as they form, and quickly developing appropriate actions to reach a positive outcome. Excellence of service and continued improvement are integral to the structure and operations of the Resource Management Agency. Formulates and presents policies, objectives, and plans to ensure that all land use, land development and public and private construction projects within the County are consistent with environmental standards conducive to public health and safety. Confers with officials of the County and federal, state, and local agencies, in the development and coordination of standards and objectives, and in the formulation and promotion of legislation to implement and enforce environmental standards. * Directs the administration of current and advanced planning, building, and environmental health for all land use within the County. Directs the evaluation of the social, economic, and environmental appropriateness of various possible alternative forms of land development and zoning. A Master's degree within a related field is highly desirable.
