The UAF Facilities Services Carpenter Shop has openings for 2 CT1 Painters which offer the opportunity for an apprentice painter to provide a much needed service to the University. Applying protective coatings to the surfaces not only protects our buildings but it adds to the overall appearance and thereby enhances the appeal of the University as a whole.

Painters are afforded the opportunity to take trade related courses that will improve their knowledge of the painting profession. Under general supervision, employee may routinely perform a variety of skilled maintenance, repair, and construction tasks in a variety of trades requiring at least apprentice level skills in any one of the trades practiced.

A minimum of one to three years related experience and/or training in the painting trade.

Minimum Qualifications:

1.Valid Driver's License and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving Criteria.

2.Hazardous Painters Card

Position Details:

This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade CT1, based on education and experience.

Salary Information: CT1 /Step 1 $24.36/hr. (See Article 9.2 in the L6070 Collective Bargaining Agreement, Wage Grade Schedule).
