General Summary Overview Statement

Under general supervision, prepares surfaces and applies paint to interior and exterior surfaces throughout hospital facilities and satellites. Responsible for snow removal as needed.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
1.Receives daily work assignments from Foreman or Assistant Foreman. Reviews work site, planning work process.
2.Prepares work area, moving furniture, assures adequate ventilation, masks around areas being painted, and spreads drop cloths to protect flooring. Mask or remove hardware.
3.Prepares surfaces for painting using sandpaper, wire brushes, cleaning solvents. Compounds defects in wall surface and drywall finish as necessary.
4.Selects appropriate paint, water base, low VOC correct color and quantity, etc.
5.Applies paint and enamel to interior and exterior surfaces, trim, furniture, wood, brick and metal, using paint brushes and/or rollers.
6.Works from step ladders and on staging for certain jobs.
7.Cleans work area upon completion of painting. Replaces furniture. Cleans equipment, brushes, etc.
8.Occasionally hangs or repairs wallpaper.
9.Completes daily record of jobs completed & charge out via IPad for services rendered.
10. Is subject to call at any time for emergency repairs to hospital facilities.
11. Occasionally will assist carpenters.
12. Performs other duties as assigned.

Fiscal Responsibilities:

Complete daily charge back for worked hours via IPad.

Skills and Abilities
1.Requires interpersonal skills necessary to maintain productive working relationships with other groups within the department.
2.Walks, climbs, ladders and staging, lifts paint, pushes furniture and equipment truck.
3.Ability to maintain written records, read and understand work orders and written warning labels.
4.Work requires the ability to lift lumber, doors and heavy times (over 70 lbs) regularly.
5.Must be physically able to use a respirator.

Working Conditions

  1. Compliance with the Hospital and department rules on uniforms in addition to the Buildings & Grounds policy and procedure manual.
  2. The use of safety equipment such as: respirators, safety glasses, safety shoes, etc. on specific job assignments.
  3. a) Pass respirator clearance exam, b) along with compliance with Hospital's universal precaution rules.
  4. Understand and practice patient confidentiality (HIPPA)
  5. Understand and practice infection control through proper dust containment. Understand the use of the environmental containment booths.
  6. Some overtime is required.
  7. Is subject to call any time for emergencies due to increment weather, special project or plant failure.
  8. Frequently exposed to extreme dirt, noxious fumes and chemicals while painting and preparing surfaces for paint.
  9. Daily work on ladders, which are dangerous, unless proper procedures are followed.
  10. Works in patient areas and laboratories.

1.High School grad or equivalent; Knowledge of painting techniques, tools, and materials expected of an incumbent with between three and five years of experience.
2.Ability to maintain written records and read and understand work orders and written warning labels. Must be able to measure ingredients by volume to mix paints, thinners, etc.
3.Physical ability to manipulate painting tools and to walk, climb, bend, stoop and push. Must be able to work more than half of day from a ladder.

VIEW JOBS 9/12/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-12-11T00:00 Patient Admitting and Registration; Full-time; 40 hours per week; Sunday - Thursday 3:30pm-12am POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction and supervision of the Manager of Admitting, the Admitting/ED Registrar registers and admits patients in the hospital information system, verifies insurance eligibility, collects co-payments, makes outgoing and receives incoming phone calls, interacts with internal and external customers and works with others in the department and Hospital to ensure an efficient and effective patient and financial flow. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Delivers outstanding customer service to both internal and external customers. * Ensures the integrity of the data in the hospital's information system with respect to patient demographic, insurance and admission information. * Verifies patient insurance using various methods. * Applies knowledge of payor requirements and guidelines to ensure effective reimbursement. * Assists in ensuring adequate departmental coverage when needed. This includes covering in the Admitting or Emergency Department at the direction of the Admitting Manager. * Participates in holiday coverage rotation. * Conducts inpatient interviews. * Secures patient valuables. * Documents accurate information on all patient accounts to ensure an effective workflow throughout the organization. * Demonstrates ability to handle difficult situations by using effective problem solving skills. * Serves as a resource for patients and others with questions regarding registration, insurance eligibility and patient admission. * Collects insurance copays from patients. * Collaborates with others to ensure a positive and effective patient experience. * Demonstrates ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast paced environment with constant interruption. * Flexible availability to accommodate work coverage requests. * Able to accurately type at least 40 words per minute. * Relates effectively to various types of customers in a professional and courteous manner. * Utilizes supervisor or manager to resolve issues/concerns as needed. * Attends and participates in departmental meetings. * All other duties as assigned. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Requires a professional, service oriented individual with strong organization skills and good judgment. An independent thinker with the ability to work under limited supervision. Must possess a high school diploma or GED. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Mental and visual attention requiring combination of alertness and manual dexterity when typing/using a PC. Able to stand for periods of time. Able to push 10-15 pounds. WORKING CONDITIONS: High volume of telephone work and face to face interaction with patients, clinical service areas and other staff. Maneuver in fast paced inpatient and clinical areas. Professional business attire is required. Because this position faces patients and the hospital is always open, the Admitting/ED Registrar must be prepared to work outside his/her scheduled hours when necessary for patient care.
