POSITION: Painter REPORTS TO: Operations DEPARTMENT: Trade Skills Manager FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt/Hourly/Full Time POSITION SUMMARY:The Painter performs mixing, matching and applying paint to various surfaces, completing touchups and providing other operational tasks as directed and needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following.
Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
Apply paint to surfaces including walls, floors, doors, and cabinets.
Mix, match, and apply paint, varnish, shellac, enamel, and other finishes.
Scrape, sandpaper, prime, or seal surfaces prior to painting.
Clean walls to ensure proper adherence.
Cover surfaces with cloth or plastic to ensure protection.
Fill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knives.
Erect scaffolding, movable and immovable staging and various rigging to gain access to difficult areas; moves furniture and equipment as necessary.
Remove fixtures such as pictures, doorknobs, lamps, and electric switch covers prior to painting.
Apply several coats according to paint directions.
Apply touchups or second coats.
Remove paint splatters when finished.
Clean up all equipment, including brushes and spray guns.
Facilitate in other areas of facility operations on an as needed basis.
Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends, holidays and hours as needed.
Maintain a professional work ethic.
Provide the highest customer service excellence.
Maintain a cooperative, team-like attitude in working with supervisors and fellow employees (including other departments).
Maintain safe working conditions.
Clean work site.
Other duties as assigned SUPERVISORY RESPONIBILITIES * Supervise and coordinate with all Full Time and part Time contractual technicians and stagehands.
Assign specific work tasks and monitor progress as to timeliness and quality of results.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Qualifications & Skills
Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results.
Must be able to use a paint brush, paint roller and masking machine.
Must have a basic knowledge of sheetrock repair.
Demonstrate knowledge of practices and procedures related to facility maintenance and proper use and care of the equipment.
Work independently, exercising judgment and initiative
Good written and verbal skills.
Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.
Model all safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE * High school diploma or GED is required
Minimum of six (6) months related experience preferred.

Shifts vary -- Required to work any shift needed (as scheduled or determined by management) * Ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
