This position will be the sole painter for Meredith Corporation in Des Moines. He/she will be able to operate aerial lifts to paint all surfaces, interior and exterior and be familiar with all painting products to perform this responsibility.
Requires carpentry knowledge to be able to repair walls with appropriate materials and finish products to complete. Job will also require a teamwork mentality to assist all other trades including Groundskeeper.
60% Patch and paint all interior and exterior surfaces.
10% Spray paint some furnishings and studio product.
10% Minor carpentry including hanging pictures, door hardware repair.
10% Furniture Revisions, including some setups for events.
10% Assisting Groundskeeper with outside duties including mowing and snow removal.
Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
Experience: Five years work experience as a painter in lieu of formal training.
Thorough knowledge of painting skills with the ability to mix paint colors, tape drywall, spray paint, and use patching materials in a safe and professional manner.
Must have physical ability to spend extended periods of time walking, bending, reaching, working overhead, and lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) as required to perform normal paint duties. Must be comfortable working at heights and operating scissor or aerial lifts to perform job. Must have valid Iowa D.L.
