Your day to day

This challenging position has overall responsibility for performing major repairs and maintenance work to ensure hotel maintenance quality and safety standards are achieved and maintained. As a Painter you will perform maintenance and repairs for assigned area of expertise.

Schedule work in accordance with preventive maintenance program in rooms, coordinate with the Executive Housekeeper and Front Office Manager. Knowledge of appropriate paint and adhesive types for various surfaces. Knowledge of techniques for mixing formulas for paints, acrylics, epoxies, stains, varnishes, concrete, scalars.

Initiate cost estimates of labor and material required for specific projects. Maintain positive guest relations at all times. Maintain the proper use, cleaning, maintenance and storage of all tools (paint sprayers, trays, brushes, rollers, scaffolds, ladders, etc) and supplies.

Ensure that assigned equipment is prepared and operational for the following day's work and a adhere to federal, state and local regulations concerning safety and other compliance requirements, as well as brand standards and local policy and procedures to ensure quality, safety, and consistency. Report all unsafe conditions or malfunctioning equipment to supervisor. May educate and train hotel staff in the safe and proper use of equipment.

You will follow procedures that ensure the security of inventory and assets such as tools, supplies, equipment, furniture, televisions etc., replenishes supplies and inventory in a timely and efficient manner, and minimizes waste. Assist with other duties as assigned.

What we need from you

Advanced vocational training plus two years of experience in general building maintenance and/or construction, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Working knowledge of different types of paints and their application.

Knowledge of stains and finishes. Ability to interpret manufacturers literature for preparation, installation, use and upkeep of various materials and products used throughout the property. Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.

Professional certification and license is necessary, if required by law. You may be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays. This job requires ability to perform the following: Carrying, lifting pushing and/or pulling items weighing up to 100-300 pounds, frequently standing up and moving about the facility, frequently handling objects and equipment to maintain the facility, and frequently bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing and crawling.
