Position Role Type:

Onsite

Collins Aerospace is looking for an individual Painter I for our Miami, FL Landing gear Facility, one of the most rapidly growing facilities across the company. The selected individual will perform paint and surface prep operations on landing gear components, in accordance with approved technical data to ensure compliance with required standards. The selected candidate may need to train on 1st shift for specified amount of time, as determined by supervision.

This position will be working in an Onsite capacity.

This position is not eligible for relocation

2nd Shift: Mon.

  • Fri. 2:15PM-11:15PM

Possible Overtime on Saturdays

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Operates painting tools, measuring devices, spray booth and ventilation system with minimal supervision

  • Performs routine and continuous paint operations in Military, commercial and dry film with minimal supervision

  • Performs and understands NADCAP operations with some guidance

  • Reads and follows work orders or standard work to perform Paint functions

  • Understands quality criteria and quality notification with guidance

  • Maintains clean and safe working environment in line with company policies

  • Takes an active role to ensure Environment, Health and Safety standards and procedures are met and within compliance

  • Looks for ways to eliminate safety hazards and improve the overall safety of the workplace

  • Provides continuous improvement ideas

  • Ensure quality product utilizing Collins quality procedures

  • Audit work area for safety compliance

  • Adhere to all Collins rules and codes of conduct

  • Perform other duties as required and available for overtime as necessary

  • Experience using HVLP paint gun

  • experience using respirator with filtration cartridge and encapsulation suit

  • aircraft knowledge and aircraft painting experience

  • Able to read and comprehend CMM & blueprints

  • Perform other duties as required and available for overtime as necessary

Qualifications/Experience Needed:

  • HS Diploma. In the absence of a HS diploma or GED, 2 years of relevant experience is required.

  • Current or previous experience operating spray booths and ventilation systems

  • Current or previous experience using measuring devices and perform math conversions.

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to independently perform all paint functions in a landing gear overhaul facility

  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft office, Excel, and Microsoft word)

  • Ability to interpret blueprints

  • Ability to use all necessary close tolerance measurement instruments with proficiency

  • Ability to perform masking and taping operations.

  • Ability to perform stenciling.

  • Knowledge of FOD control programs.
