Description

Position Summary/ Objective:

Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor and/or Manager, the Painter will be responsible for painting, maintaining and repairing surfaces of the building, furniture, rooms and equipment throughout the facility in the resort's continuing effort to deliver an outstanding guest experience. Associate will work independently or in a team under little to no supervision. This position relies on good judgment to perform the functions of the job.

Primary Essential Functions:

  • All associates are obligated to support and uphold the values, expectations, policies, and procedures of Grand Pacific Resorts as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

  • Paint, maintain and repair painted, wall-covered, stained and varnished surfaces of building structures, rooms, furniture and equipment throughout the resort and facilities.

  • Ensure your area of responsibility meets all company compliance standards, utilizing the appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) at all times.

  • Prepare and paint surfaces using techniques and tools including, but not limited to, measuring surfaces, applying spackle and plaster, mixing paint, matching paint and using brushes, rollers and spray guns.

  • Install and repair covered wall and ceiling surfaces including, but not limited to, hanging vinyl paper, fabric and foil wall coverings.

  • Maintain and repair caulked, grouted, wood and masonry surfaces requiring staining, varnishing and lacquering.

  • Manage related supply inventory

  • Collaborate closely with other departments to coordinate on guest needs, concerns, room defects, and special requests to ensure overall stay satisfaction.

  • Communicate professionally with guests, owners, supervisors and associates.

  • Adhere strictly to rules regarding health and safety policies and procedures.

  • Remain knowledgeable of emergency procedures, current resort projects, safety and security issues, reports damages or repairs as needed.

  • Maintain the proper appearance of uniform and nametag usage.

  • Assist with any additional tasks or special projects as assigned by Supervisor.

  • Responsible for conducting all responsibilities in a professional and ethical manner.

  • Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.

  • Adhere to performance standards, company policies and procedures, as they relate to the department.

Qualifications

Education, Skills & Experience:

The ideal candidate must be a detail oriented, thorough, and professional individual who consistently provides exemplary customer service to guests, owners, management and associates.

  • At least 2 years of job related experience is required.

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

  • Must have a valid Driver's License.

  • Knowledgeable of the equipment, materials, methods, practices, and tools used in the painting trade.

  • Knowledgeable in safety use for power tools and shop tools.

  • Knowledgeable use of general maintenance tools and equipment.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

  • Experience in the hospitality industry (time share preferred).

  • Ability to work independently or in a diverse team environment.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications Required:

  • Must be available to work various shifts including weekends and holidays.

  • Must be able to successfully pass applicable auditions or skill testing, background check, physical examination and drug screening test.

  • Ability to speak and understand the English language.

Physical, Environmental & Other Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours.

  • Must also be able to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.

  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • Clear vision (close, distant and depth perception) is needed for navigating office and all other buildings within the resort.
