As an aircraft painter, you will support the Bell Ozark paint department by preparing, masking, priming and clear coating aircraft for painting.

Responsibilities:

  • Spray primer and paint on aircraft interiors and parts

  • Capable of mixing various paints and primers

  • Apply clear coat to aircraft parts and aircraft

  • Clean, sand, mask and tape aircraft and/or aircraft parts for paint

  • Mix, apply, and smooth cosmetic fillers

  • Demonstrate consistent ability to perform tasks with limited errors or rework

  • Assist with painting parts

  • Properly use PPE for various types of paint-related materials

  • Maintain proper disposals and hazardous waste

  • Ensure a safe work environment for all employees

  • Interpret and understand engineering drawings

  • Understand and maintain compliance with procedures

  • Maintain all certifications and training

  • Recognize and solve problems

  • Maintain product quality standards

  • Applying alodine, washing aircraft or sealing a variety of components

  • Works from oral and written instructions and established procedures

  • Uses painting equipment including brushes and spray guns to perform minor rework, touch-up, priming of aircraft, aircraft parts, and components

  • Perform plastic media blasting of aircraft, aircraft parts, and components

Qualifications

Education Requirement

High School or GED

Position requirements

  • 2 years of aircraft refinishing experience or related auto body refinishing experience surface preparation

  • Ability to work with sealant and proseal (previous experience preferred but not required)

  • Properly use PPE (Respirator Certification and Use and participate in annual medical surveillance as required by OSHA) for various types of paint-related materials

  • Capable of spraying various primers and top coats

  • Capable of painting aircraft interiors and parts

  • Able to mix and spray aircraft with paint, with supervision

  • Ability to mix and apply fillers

  • Ability to sand to a smooth, paintable surface

  • May work under the guidance and instruction of a Painter II and Painter III-Lead

  • Use and clean spray guns, paint pots, hoses, and other spray equipment.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to climb a ladder with an air hose attached to back

  • Must be able to complete a respirator fit test as wearing a respirator is occasionally required

  • Must be on feet 10 hours/day, 4 days/week

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs on a regular basis

This role will function as a structural/sheet metal mechanic to support operations at the Bell Ozark site. Primary Position Responsibilities: * Install all mod kits (air conditioners, sliding doors, rescue hoist, FAST rope systems, etc..) * Perform all inspections associated with condition of airframe and airframe components * Perform all structural maintenance on airframe * Perform major sheet metal repairs * Load and unload aircraft in the fixture * Perform composite repairs * Fabricate sheet metal and/or composite parts * Other duties as assigned Education Requirements: * High School Diploma or GED Position Requirements: * 5 or more years of experience as structural mechanic * Knowledge of all tooling required to complete work task (shears, brakes, etc..) * Ability to work from detailed work documents or Technical manual * Ability to read and interpret blueprints * Ability to maintain and understand aircraft logbooks * Must be able to work overtime as required * Must provide own tools * A&P License preferred * Other duties as assigned Physical Requirements: * Able to lift up to 25 lbs. repeatedly * Prolonged kneeling, squatting, sitting, crawling, and climbing stairs, ladders and work stands Don't miss the chance to join a diverse, inclusive environment where you feel a sense of belonging.
