Position: Paint TechnicianDetails:
Full Time, Hourly (Monday-Friday, 6:30 am - 3:00 pm), or Full Time, Hourly (Monday-Thursday, 9:30 am- 8:00 pm)At Wipaire we have been engineering and manufacturing aircraft floats, which are used to convert existing airplanes into sea planes. We also will provide relocation assistance.Job Duties:Following Wipaire Paint Process procedures, prepares aircraft, aircraft parts, modifications and/or float assemblies.
New employees will be trained on all of the duties listed below.Performs paint process tasks in accordance with Wipaire Paint Process and FAA requirements.Complies with Wipaire Paint Process to meet quality standards and applicable FAA regulations.Follows company procedures and manufacturer's instructions when using tools and equipment, such as dual action sanders, hydraulic lift platforms and paint sprayers.Uses sealants, paint strippers, and corrosion-preventive chemicals.Uses protective equipment and follows safety rules as required in compliance with OSHA regulations, including reading and understanding SDS sheets.Utilizes Wipaire computer system to create parts demand, track orders and sign off on work.Documents hours worked accurately in all required time tracking systems.Experience and SkillsEducation, Experience and CredentialsTwo-year Trade School or Vocational Degree or equivalent work experience preferred.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesHVLP or pressure pot spraying experience strongly preferred.1-3 years of autobody or similar industry experience strongly preferred.Able to learn paint processes and products (lacquers, enamels, epoxies, urethanes, and acrylics), paint operations, GAMPS, and Paint WFR.Able to read and understand FAA processes, including repair processes, drawings, and compliance requirements.Basic computer skills, including MS Office and Internet. Able to learn and utilize all available Wipaire software packages.Work as an effective and proactive team-player; exhibit flexibility and switch priorities in work duties while maintaining a positive attitude; understands the importance of supporting the organization, customers, and other employees.Kneel, bend, squat, reach, and lean several hours throughout the day while performing painting.Lift paint and materials weighing up to 50 pounds.Climb and work on ladders while performing painting on aircraft.Must have all required tools designated on the Wipaire minimum required tool list within 90 days of starting employment.Comply with drug testing requirements in compliance with federal regulations.Pass annual physical, including respirator fit test, in order to use safety equipment.Wipaire is an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer: Women, minorities, the disabled and veterans are encouraged to apply.Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship for employment visa status.
