Duties and responsibilities
Practical knowledge of TS16949, ISO9000, and QS9000 or ISO14000 requirements and application.
Must have experience with setup robot components and parameters to run automatic high volume production.
Must have knowledge of paint processes, electro coat, acrylic, powder coat, liquid or other paint processes.
Develop and support the painting of injection molded automotive plastic parts for the production lines.
Assist quality personnel in improving quality procedures regarding painting plastic injection
Work on robotic systems involving the origination, design, and development of new robotic products and components and/or the modification and improvement of existing designs.
Responsible for startup and programming of robotic paint lines. Strong background in paint, automation and robotics is required (six plus years of experience). Controls background is a plus.
Automotive paint system installation experience strongly desired.
Proven ability to project launch and achieve standardization practices using process improvement tools.
Manufacturing product /process design experience with tool/die knowledge.
Manufacturing leadership experience in a highly technical process. JOEM / Domestic automotive systems
Utilize quality tools for improvement FEA, DOE, FMEA, SPC, and VA/VE activities. Proven quality system development. QC7 Tools
Knowledge of engineering concepts with PLC experience.
Experience with ergonomic design and integration
Knowledge of production rate inspection of parts per inspection plans.
Strong analytical / problem-solving skills
Bachelors of Science in Engineering and 5+ years in paint manufacturing is preferred. BS degree strongly preferred but experience considered in lieu of education or equivalent combination of education/ experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skills across all levels and functions of the organization.
Prior experience utilizing Lean Manufacturing Tools (Blitz, Kaizen Action Sheets, Value Stream Mapping, etc.)
Must be a self-starter with proven ability to give and gain respect of all employees
Travel required on an occasional basis. Must have valid drivers license/insurance.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office software (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
Bi-lingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred. Fluent in Japanese helpful
Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds
