Paid Web Content Intern - Byu-Pathway Worldwide (Full-Time, Intern)

In this collaborative internship, you will have the opportunity to learn important skills and gain professional experience in the world of web content marketing. Under the direction of the communication and web content manager, you will be involved in content planning and creation, which includes incorporating website updates, creating new web pages, editing or replacing content, ensuring image optimization, and resolving web mobile and accessibility issues.

You'll play a crucial role in helping BYU-Pathway Worldwide clearly and effectively communicate its offerings and mission to a diverse audience of nearly 70,000 students from 180 countries annually. The position has the flexibility to be structured around specific skill sets or interests for the right candidate. Opportunities exist to concentrate on website analytics, SEO, and content management.

This is a paid remote internship, based out of the Triad Center in Salt Lake City, UT. Candidates must live in Utah or Idaho.

Position Start Date: April/May 2024

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Approximate Hours/Week: 40

• Enrolled in a degree program in Communications, Software Development, Digital Marketing, or related field.

• Basic understanding of marketing concepts and principles, especially modern website layout principles.

• Experience with Content Management Systems and basic HTML, PHP, or CSS skills.

• Experience with Adobe Photoshop or other image editing software as well as optimization and compression techniques.

• Competent proofreading and editing skills.

• Excellent time management, customer service, organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.

• Works closely with the communications and web content manager in the following areas:

• Audit web pages for issues and make updates to ensure usability and accuracy.

• Make content edits to existing web pages for byupathway.edu and englishconnect.org hosted in Brightspot.

• Help rewrite content and edit images for the web.

• Assist with outlining customizations needed to fix, update, or improve the website content management system.

• Pull website analytics reports and help analyze results.
