Job Summary:
The PACT Program, a retention initiative under the Center for Academic and Student Achievement (CASA) at the University of San Francisco (USF), offers undergraduates an opportunity to engage in ongoing peer-to-peer mentoring with upper-level-students in their respective academic fields. Additionally, the PACT program strives to support historically disadvantaged student groups in their journey towards attaining a degree from USF. PACT aids mentees in fostering a sense of academic belonging, honing skill-based development, and accessing leadership opportunities at USF. Embedded in Stanford University's design thinking principles, PACT aims to cultivate an environment where Accountability Partners (sophomores, juniors, and seniors) and PACT Mentees (new incoming undergraduates) can establish a pact centered around four themes to optimize each other's potential to the fullest.

General Description:
Under the supervision of the PACT Graduate Intern, with a dotted line to the Assistant Dean of Retention and Persistence Programs, Accountability Partner(s) (AP) provides support to undergraduates who participate in PACT.
Mentorship:
Participate in the program for the full academic year.
Complete the Dons Mentoring PACT Partnership Agreement with their Mentee.
Schedule, facilitate, and document weekly interactions with PACT Mentees (i.e in person, phone, etc).
Maintain a communication schedule agreed upon with your Mentee.
Complete all program related surveys & assessments.
Report any student concerns or emergencies.
Make appropriate referrals to relevant USF departments and resources to help PACT Scholars navigate USF.
Help Scholars set clear goals to aid them in their success.
Program Development:
Develop, plan and implement Design Studios sessions.
Assist in the development of monthly programming and social activities both large and small groups.
Support PACT community service initiatives.
Assist with assessments (ie. survey and focus groups) and provide recommendations for improvement based on the needs of participants.
Administrative Support
Participate in PACT Retreat.
Support the Graduate Assistant, in creating a marketing strategy to encourage participation from students and future scholars.
Design effective communication that provides important information to PACT Scholars throughout the year (flyers, social media, text and phone calls, etc).
Assist with student recognitions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Terms of Employment:
The AP position averages 5-7 hours per week. Compensation: $18.67/hr
This position is for Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 semesters. Candidates will be evaluated throughout the year for their job performance and continuous employment. The APs must be skilled in multitasking and available to work evenings and weekends.
Programs may also require travel on weekends to social development programs such as museum trips, roller skating, community fair, etc.
Required Qualifications:
Rising sophomore, junior, or senior in academic year 2024-2025.
Must demonstrate academic success in their studies.
Must be in good judicial standing with the University of San Francisco
Expected to exhibit leadership and passion for mentoring underserved students
Currently enrolled full-time in an undergraduate degree at USF.
Maintain good academic and disciplinary standing with the university.
