JOB SUMMARY: The PACS Analyst supports the daily operations of the Picture Archive Communication System (PACS).# Collaboratively with the PACS Administrator, the PACS analyst will perform system administration, end user support and training.# Supports the design and implementation of upgrades to the PACS system at Pella Regional Health Center.# The PACS analyst will support the Medical Imaging department.

This position reports to the Director of Imaging and collaborates with the I/T PACS Administrator. #Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities: Bachelor#s degree in computer science or a business degree desirable.# 2-year degree may be substituted if in combination with 4 or more years of progressively more advanced experience.# Further experience in the field may be substituted for a formal degree. Previous hospital experience preferred.

Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Ability to communicate well verbally.# Must work effectively as a member of a team. Demonstrated strong computer experience, with one year or more of experience in positions relating to computer software support preferred. Willingness to complete further radiographic, PACS, IT related education or certification as required by the department.

Job Summary Work Shift 1 - First Shift The Information Technology Intern utilizes technical skills across the life cycle of programming requests (analysis, design, programming, documentation, testing, implementation and support). This role works directly with several departments to meet their specific requests. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Demonstrate the Vermeer characteristics of caring culture, demonstrating agility, customer focused, and stewardship and model the associated behaviors. 2. Help develop and implement program code based on design specifications using accepted programming techniques and standards. Preserve the integrity of all files and maximize the efficiency and resources of all computer systems through effective program development techniques (testing and debugging) and through effective programming design features (editing, security and auditing controls). 3. Analyze programming requirements based on end-user needs; develop and modify programs per departmental and user request; maintain and enhance existing application programs as requested. 4. Maintain all necessary application and program documentation. 5. Provide end-user support services, as needed, including, but not limited to, training, documentation preparation, troubleshooting and consultation. Education and/or Experience * High School diploma required. * Current student pursing a Bachelors' degree in Applied Sciences or Computer Programming. * Previous internship is a plus. Other Skills and Abilities * Knowledge in the area(s) of programming languages and databases. * Ability to type and program code to support the business decisions and computing needs. * Demonstration of strong organizational skills. * Ability to provide timely and accurate information to the computer operations staff and end-users regarding programming, its effects on operations and its effects on end-user processing. * Demonstration of excellent written and oral communication skills. * Demonstration of attention to detail and a high sense of accuracy; ability to create accurate, professional and error-free documents; ability to type and enter data accurately.
