Packer / Production Tech

Judson A. Smith Company seeking an energetic collaborative person to join our 2nd shift.

Monday - Friday: 3pm-11pm

Requirements and skills

• Inspect, pack, weigh and label completed items for shipment

• Follows all company guidelines

• Identify and quarantine defective items before they are shipped to customers

• Complete records in an accurate and timely way

• Proven work experience as a Packer or similar role

• Will rotate throughout the factory to strengthen skillset or when the production schedule requires

• Experience in manufacturing or related field is preferred

• Basic shop skills, such as using measuring devices

• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English

• Strong communication skills and desire to work with other team members

• Inserts part into holding fixture, presses buttons to activate, retrieves part and follows documented inspection guidelines.

• Observes machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction.

• Measures workpiece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.

• Fill out and/or maintain production forms and charts.

• Stack, mark, pack and transport finished or unfinished workpieces.

• Perform secondary operations as required by specific component procedure sheet.
