We are seeking another day shift Packaging Supervisor to partner and support our great Bend, Oregon team. This team works on a busy production floor putting our tasty beverages in bottles, cans, and kegs! Our Packaging Operators are responsible for operating machines filling well over 100 bottles or cans a minute.
We are actively seeking a day shift Packaging Supervisor for the following opening(s):

Saturday (3/12s): Days (5am
5:30pm)
JOB PURPOSE:
The Packaging Supervisor will partner with the Assistant Supervisor to perform supervisory duties and extend coverage into current shifts, including the effective supervision, management and coaching of the Packaging Operator Team, responsibility for ensuring we produce the proper quantity of quality products safely and at maximum efficiency, and acting as a role model with open communication and partnership to proactively address and resolve all issues that impact plant operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Follow Humm policies, safety rules, Standard Operating Procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices and procedures.
Works toward alignment with company goals and KPIs
Communicate with department supervisors to prevent and/or resolve any issues across the entire production floor including: packaging, fermentation, warehouse, maintenance, and QC to ensure maximum productivity and a safe work environment.
Assist Plant Manager with development and adherence to department budget, equipment selection, expansions, or planning.
All other duties similar in scope and responsibility as assigned
People:
Responsible for partnering on the hiring, training and development of Packaging Operators and Leads.
Scheduling and assigning of all packaging line positions and rotations. Work with Leads to coordinate breaks and lunches of line operators to enable steady production flow.
Foster a positive team atmosphere and include regular coaching and conversations in alignment with core values.
Evaluate personnel according to Humm Kombucha procedures on work policies, safety, performance, and attendance. Be consistent in disciplinary actions.
Production:
Monitors and implements the effectiveness of the Food Safety Management System and promotes food safety and quality awareness.
Enforce all production and safety rules and processes.
Trained and knowledgeable on how to perform all function of the Packaging Line.
Responsible for meeting all Packaging quality standards and specifications
Work with leadership and the Packaging Team to regularly improve and update processes, workflow and SOPs, for improved efficiencies and job satisfaction
Manage supplies inventory for packaging and work with other departments to make sure all materials are prepped to enable the steady flow of production.
Oversee start up, shutdown, CIP and cleaning of equipment as determined by the production schedule
Responsible ensuring the completion of documentation and communication tools (i.e. Downtime reports, batch tickets, end of shift reports, etc.)

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 3 year's supervisory/leadership experience
Prior experience in a leadership role in a brewery or other food/beverage pack line highly preferred.
Prior experience with brewery quality assurance and quality control plans highly preferred
Demonstrated ability to maintain composure in high pressure, fast-paced environments.
Solutions and problem-solving oriented, ability to dive in and find solutions.
High level communication skills - verbal, written, and interpersonal
Ability to motivate staff and create an environment conducive to teamwork both in the department and across a production floor.
Oregon Food Handlers training and card of completion
Computer skills including experience in Excel/Sheets and Word/Docs.
Forklift operator certificate is required within 30 days of hire.
Chemical training and the ability to properly use and safely handle a variety of hazardous materials including acids, caustics and sanitizers within 30 days
Knowledge of the care, cleaning, and maintenance of all mechanical packaging equipment.
