Packaging Operator

Job Description

SUMMARY

The packaging operator will operate production packaging equipment (fillers, packers, palletizers, etc.)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Swing shift (2:30pm - 11pm) production.

• Ensure that ALL safety equipment is installed on machines prior to start-up

• Communicate to Production Supervisor when any problems arise that require maintenance

• Assist Production Supervisor where needed

• Insure all health and safety guidelines are followed

• Bulk truck / rail car loading & unloading

• Report any unsafe condition immediately to Production Supervisor

• Report any unsafe acts by anyone to the Production Supervisor

• Stay with any equipment that is "running"

• Cross-train on all machines to learn how each one operates

• Identify any areas where you feel cost savings may be attained

• Any other duties assigned by management

Job Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or GED required.

• 1 + Operator experience

• Able to lift 55lbs or more

• Leadership of 2 or more team members

• Mechanically inclined Problem-solving skills

• Ability to work with others
