Baerlocher Production is looking for dependable candidates to add to their team!

The Packaging Operator position is held through a temporary agency but is not a temporary position. The hours are 6:30 a.m.

  • 6:30 p.m. or 6:30 p.m.

  • 6:30 a.m. depending on need. The work week starting on a Monday is two days on, two days off, and three days on. The next week is two days off, two days on, and three days off. The hourly rate for this position is $17 for day shift and $17.75 for night shift.


Operate pack-out station in accordance with latest Baerlocher USA safety and production standards.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Packaging of material produced on production lines, and assistance during clean-out/change-over

  • Ability to assume additional responsibilities of Lead Operator on a temporary basis in the event of Lead Operator absence

  • Communicate with Production Foreman and other Production Management

  • Maintain a clean and safe work area

  • Other duties as assigned

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Proper and safe operation of all production lines

  • Execute production start-ups, shutdowns, and change-overs per Production Managements request

  • Work to meet shift production goals safely and while maintaining quality via direction from Lead Operator and Production Management

  • Responsible for in-process quality control. Make adjustments as necessary during shift to produce product within specifications and reject product outside of specifications

  • Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety/regulatory procedures (Lock-out/Tag-out, Confined Space, Wastewater, etc.)

  • Conduct in-process quality testing

Candidate Qualifications

Minimum Requirement:

  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent

  • Knowledge of and experience with the manufacturing processes, procedures, and machinery. This is normally acquired through two to five years of manufacturing experience

  • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers

  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds

The operator starts up and shutdowns all equipment according to established procedures or specifications and perform minor to major clearing of jams and downtime issues on the line. The operator reports any abnormal equipment function or product problems to the Supervisor. The operator is responsible for the safe operations of all equipment and promptly reports all incidents, injuries or safety hazards. The operator is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work area by utilizing all 5S cleaning and tools necessary to keep the area clean and clear of debris, yet neat and organized. The operator may be required to perform job tasks at different work times, on different work schedules and also in other departments dependent upon business needs. The operator will be required to work overtime as needed, and to provide line coverage during vacations, roving holidays and sick time to support their natural work team. * The operator maintains accurate and legible records such as Production Counts, Material Usage/Losses and properly document information on Batch Work orders as per the company procedures * The operator is responsible for adhering to the product isolation procedures, along with sampling and proper identification of product status * The operator maintains an adequate supply of materials to the equipment in operation, and also monitor supply usage and correct releases * The operator troubleshoots and make the necessary adjustments as required to maintain quality performance * The operator ensures that both products and materials are of proper identification, correct codes and expiration dates * In addition, products and materials should also have acceptable visual and physical appearance This position is accountable for all rules and regulations applicable to the manufacture of both pediatric and nutritional products. This position is accountable for complying with applicable FDA, GMP, OSHA and Abbott regulations, policies, procedures or guidelines. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING: High school diploma/GED is required. This position requires the ability to communicate pertinent line information to both production and support group personnel. A high level of attention to detail is required.
