Job Description:

We are looking a Packaging Mechanic to work 3rd shift.

Packaging Line Technician with mechanical/electrical abilities and gowning procedures with aseptic qualifications who is able to function as a Setup, PM and changeover technician. Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues on packaging equipment will be a plus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Takes responsibility, overcomes obstacles, and escalates issues at the appropriate time, ability to change over packaging line equipment from one size and product to another with accurate documentation of the activities in accordance with procedures.

  • Able to perform corrective and preventative mechanical and or electrical maintenance aseptically

  • Knowledgeable in equipment trouble shooting. Able to assess impact on equipment /anomalies. Ability to make effective decisions and take action based on deductive reasoning and potential product impact.

  • Knowledgeable in mechanical and or some electrical / with packaging equipment.

  • Understanding of basic Mechanical and Electrical concepts.

  • Able to multi task with a can do attitude. Effective verbal skills. TEAM PLAYER.

  • Able to respond to faults and error messages, to assess potential product impact and act to identify and address root cause.

  • Able to identify improvement opportunities in given processes / procedures.

  • Knowledge of CGMP, SOP, Lock Out Tag Out, and OSHA regulations required.

  • Must be able to read, write, speak and comprehend English.

  • Maintain area orderly and clean during all operations.

  • Capable of working extended overtime hours.

Ability to train other Packaging Technicians.

Qualifications

Desirable Qualifications

  • Knowledgeable in mechanical / electrical associated with Packaging Equipment. Knowledge in various Packaging Equipment e.g. Bottle Filler, Bottle Unscrambler, Cartoners, Induction Sealer, Labeler, Case Tapers, Tube filler, Bundlers etc.

Requirements

  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Able to wear appropriate safety gear

  • Able to perform repairs for extended periods /shift

  • Able to stand for extended period / shift

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma /Trade School Required,
  • Equipment / Trouble Shooting Training desired.
    2-5 years of experience in a Pharmaceutical environment.

Responsibilities * Operate any and all pieces of equipment and machinery associated with this position to produce desired product. * Proper and efficient use of intricate pieces of equipment and machinery, including but not limited to casting equipment, glass melting equipment, heat treatment ovens, etc. * Inspection of glass and single blocks. * Coordinate with peers and supervisors regarding production scheduling, workplace improvements, troubleshooting, etc. * Utilize good judgment and learned knowledge to assess and solve problems as they arise in the production process. * Provide daily status reports and communicate directly with other employees, both internally and externally. * Successfully and comprehensively train on all required and applicable SOPs, WMs, MPSs, and any other applicable department related procedures for the position. * Successfully and comprehensively train on all required and applicable company procedures. * Train new employees and participate in cross-training, when required. * Effective in-process quality control. * Accumulation of accurate records of all production work performed utilizing applicable log sheets and data management programs (e.g. Excel). * Maintain a clean working environment for the purpose of eliminating contamination and ensuring the longevity of sensitive equipment. * Adhere to building safety and security procedures in the performance of all duties. * Perform other related duties and assignments as required. Qualifications * Minimum high school diploma or equivalent. * One year experience as a Technician, Electrician, or related position. * Strong technical approach and mechanical aptitude with basic knowledge regarding fundamental production procedures and system operations required. * Welding and glass melting experience a plus. * Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. * Ability to utilize basic math skills to understand production needs and requirements. * Ability to work independently and in a team, with minimal instruction. * Highly motivated with the willingness to learn and grow within the organization. * Computer literacy required. SAP knowledge a plus. Strong knowledge of MS Office required, specifically Excel. * Proficiency working in a GUI environment preferred. * Highly detail oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills. * Ability to project current system conditions to future projections and take appropriate action. * Ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure. * Ability and willingness to work around high temperature materials. * Ability and willingness to travel both domestically and internationally required. Physical Demands Ability to lift up to 40 pounds comfortably. Position could involve sitting, standing, walking, lifting and bending for long periods of time throughout the day. Ability to use a computer monitor and move about effectively to fulfill the essential functions of the job. Dexterity and ability to engage in fine manipulation.
