Description Overview
The Packaging Manager is responsible for leadership and coaching of the packaging department at PVT. This position has responsibility for all shifts of packaging operations, including at the Main Building and at the Arrowhead Facility.
Scope of the Role
Plan, lead & direct packaging operations at PVT (includes coordination of materials, machines & people)
Lead and resolve operational quality issues & quality initiatives
Operations personnel management
Continuous improvement activities (productivity / lean sigma)
New product opportunities / evaluations / cost estimates
Coaching & development of staff
Experience Required
Knowledge and experience of manufacturing and packaging pharmaceutical operations, cGMP's, HACCP, CCP's, PMO regulations, etc. preferred
Ability to establish and communicate a vision for the packaging department to multiple employees through shift meetings, employee one-on-one's, team meetings, etc. The vision of future state will drive strategic planning and actions to support Perrigo packaging needs
Ability and experience with reviewing and understanding complex regulatory requirements and implementing comprehensive systems and processes to achieve improved competitiveness and high quality operations
Sound judgement and good decision making skills to lead and set direction both tactically (day-to-day) and strategically (long-term)
Ability to gather, organize and analyze data, make timely decisions
Computer skills, including SAP and MS Office
Ability to organize and lead operations teams to meet customer needs
Ability to solve problems and/or focus on CI opportunities both as an individual and as a member of a team
Establish metrics for packaging group - hold teams / production departments accountable for quality, cost & delivery
Work hours must include flexibility to provide interaction with employees on all shifts
Coach & develop supervisors
These skills are typically acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other closely aligned discipline; combined with a minimum of 6+ years of relevant work experience
