Do you have a passion around sustainable packaging options? We are recruiting a packaging expert who will focus on flow- wrap, flexible films and environmentally sustainable options.

As a Packaging Engineer within our Global Material Development team, you will make an impact by providing technical leadership in the development and commercialization of Rockline packaging components. This is an individual contributor role and will work cross functionally with teams in Product Development, Product Marketing, Operations, and Global Engineering to define project scope, success criteria, project transitions and timelines. In this role, you will also provide technical direction to suppliers and internal resources to ensure commercialization success of projects. Other key functions of the role include:

  • Explore, evaluate and commercialize new and improved packaging options for use with Rockline wet wipe applications. A specific focus of the position will be placed on flow-wrap and flexible films and moving toward improved environmentally sustainable options.

  • Develop, maintain and manage the assigned packaging specifications.

  • Plan and direct project activities, trials, and discussions with raw material suppliers.

  • Provide internal project updates and manage project timelines and expectations.

  • Perform package, production film, suppliers and converting process validations.

  • Provide feedback to packaging suppliers and QA to resolve packaging quality related complaints in a timely manner.

Position Requirements Include:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering required; degree preference in Packaging or Materials Science.

  • Minimum of 4 years experience in packaging development required. Experience should include one or more of the following: knowledge of flow wrap and flexible film applications, product and process validation, developing new package concepts and optimizing of existing products. Previous experience in packaging development and specification writing is highly desired.

  • Must have the desire and ability to work independently, be self-directed and resourceful within the packaging industry
