Packaging Engineer

Description:

The Packaging Engineer will be responsible for:

• Evaluating current packaging and create cost improvement strategies for both existing and new package designs

• Utilizing computer and mechanical design tools to create packaging products

• Developing packaging designs using Cad Software to minimize waste, reduce costs and ensure product safety during transportation and storage.

• Selecting appropriate packaging material using Supply chain knowledge

• Creating packaging prototypes and conduct testing to meet the required specifications.

MUST HAVES:

Bachelors degree in Package engineering, mechanical engineering, Supply Chain, or something comparable

5+ years working in manufacturing environment as a packaging Engineer

Experience designing in 3d Cad software (Solidworks or creo preferably)

Knowledge of packaging materials

Working Knowledge of packaging and shipping test methods to assure packaging performance meets shipping stresses

NICE TO HAVES:

Working Knowledge of Amazon Ista (Ista 6)
