The Creative Group is seeking an talented graphic designer with extensive experience in packaging for a short-term contract with one of our clients. If you are a package designer who has operated in a variety of industries this may be the perfect position for you! As the packaging designer you will need to

  • Exemplify strong design knowledge and demonstrate expertise in a variety of design software

  • Prepare images to be presented on different graphic elements including product packaging

  • Take charge of the design, layout and formatting of materials. Typographic, photographic, illustrative and graphic elements may be integrated into designs

Requirements

  • Packaging experience is a must have

  • Packaging experience in the toy industry is a plus!

  • At least two years of experience in packaging design roles

Functions include: Marketing, Regulatory, Design,Schawk Internal and Production site team members, Suppliers, Printers. * Manages the budget, estimating and invoicing process for artwork production process * Manages gathering key artwork inputs for (labeling & artwork) packaging design projects * Monitors production art development from agency handoff through & including final materials * Partners with Design to resolve art file or printing issues with supplier/printer * Monitor all design extensions & adaptations across multiple structures and substrates for optimal design and print production results * Consult, collaborate, and collect the packaging copy manuscripts with the cross-functional team * Develop, communicate, and manage project priorities, timelines and status to internal and external partners * Partner with internal & external partners to ensure they meet service level performance and influence KPI's including cycle time, rounds of revision, and the timely collection of artwork inputs * Resolve or assist in the resolution of issues within and between projects or team; develop methods to monitor artwork project progress and resolve issues as necessary * Follows up to ensure that deliverables meet or exceed expectations * Ensure compliance to processes and establish discipline to standardized ways of working * Assist in every portion of the approval process between internal and external partners, ensure alignment at every step of the design and activation process. * Schedule and facilitate meetings related to packaging project execution * Facilitate online proofing process, timeline, consolidation and resolution of artwork changes * Proactively identify obstacles and seek resolution to ensure products delivered to retail * Communicate art revisions * Ensure all content is reviewed and approved by all stakeholders * Responsible for the collection of (artwork & labeling) project inputs; partner with stakeholders to secure and validate the necessary inputs to effectively execute the project * Ensure suppliers are completing tasks and forms to the prescribed timelines * Ensure all projects' feedback is properly tracked and documented and has been reviewed and agreed upon by all appropriate stakeholders * Demonstrate proficiency with Schawk on-line tools and other tools & technology as required by the business * Responsible for understanding the latest design, print production, special effects, and print technology trends and innovations * Operational Excellence: * Continuously improve the project management tools, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and proactively document and share learning's with the Schawk Onsite team * Create a positive, lasting impression for our people and our clients * Create the best experience at every encounter for our internal and external clients * Provide insight, leadership, professionalism, and dedication to create enthusiastically satisfied clients * Look for opportunities to support our company's competitive advantage * Support a corporate culture that is positive, fulfilling, nurturing and rewarding * Support new technologies and training to ensure optimum efficiency and performance Qualifications / Requirements Employee Experience: * Creates strong and effective internal partnerships and collaborates across the business;
