Briefly describe the position responsibilities:

  • Creates consumer and retail-oriented packaging and merchandising solutions, including templates, if needed, for products.

  • Provides graphic design for packaging, merchandising and detailed labeling as required.

  • Assists in development of planograms and presentations for Key Account Sales needs.

  • Manages outside creative resources when used.

  • Maintains packaging library, reference materials and guidelines for product lines.

  • Lead for packaging and merchandising recommendations to product teams.

  • Creates, manages and/or executes complete graphic design work associated with assigned DEMDACO design efforts including but not limited to:

  • Product packaging, including box graphics, enclosure cards, cross-sell inserts, hangtags, header cards

  • In-store signage, gift guides, merchandising/displayers and Point of Purchase materials to support in-store sell through of DEMDACO products

  • Product line logos, under stamps, face papers, stickers, regulatory labeling

  • Manages costs within provided budgets.

  • Provides in-house expertise in print production, color proofing and management. Familiarity with industry standards for printing and color.

  • Organizes and maintains graphic images and project files with back-up systems, and corporate documentation requirements.

  • Accountable for detailed specs for skus including copyright information, measurements and quality requirements.

  • Communicates packaging direction to overseas or domestic agents and offices; manages approvals.

  • Creates packaging mock-ups for catalog and showrooms as needed.

  • Working knowledge and maintenance of labeling requirements for various material types (i.e. plush for baby)

Proficient in Adobe Graphic Design software and applications:

  • Photoshop

  • Illustrator

  • InDesign

  • Macintosh expertise preferred

  • Ability to convert and work in all standard file types

Experience in Graphic Design for:

  • Three-dimensional packaging

  • Merchandising

  • Print materials

  • Brand identity and logo design

  • Website a plus

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite:

  • Excel

  • Word

  • PowerPoint

  • Outlook

General Experience

  • 3+ years packaging and graphic design experience in the gift industry.

  • Proven expertise in graphics, design and technical processes and best practices.

  • Strong project management and ability to effectively manage external resources, budgets, and process.

  • Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple high priority projects and meet deadlines.

  • People skills: strong interpersonal, as well as written and verbal communication; collaborates well with a team.

  • College degree preferred.

Physical Demands:

  • Some lifting and carrying of products and merchandising materials in master cartons and shipping cartons for merchandising projects and trade shows

  • Occasionally required to assist in setting up merchandising displays

  • Limited travel to trade shows, print vendors and showrooms
