The Packaging Coordinator will have frequent interactions with customers, manufacturing, sales representatives, project managers and business development teams regarding current packaging capabilities and new packaging opportunities. The position will also support productivity initiatives in product packaging by working with the suppliers, procurement and manufacturing teams
Primary Responsibilities:
Primary shipping contact to customers, manufacturing, material handlers, scheduling, carriers, and customer service. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with customers, suppliers, carriers and Lydall associates.
Travel and support customer locations with packaging issues and new launch requirements.
Provides packaging specs, designs and potential costs for inclusion in the bid package.
Design, develop and optimized packaging using design software.
Creates packaging specifications and implements new packaging initiatives based on information from marketing, purchasing, and other key departments with goals of reducing our environmental impact, improve productivity, and lower material costs
Update and review all customers required packaging systems and portals.
Be knowledgeable in export documentation, NAFTA certifications, and AES contact.
Understand and navigate efficiently throughout Oracle system procedures including EDI programs. Review the SOP/Control Plans as deemed necessary (layers, packaging, etc.). Document and review revisions identified to appropriate value stream manager for SOP/Control Plan revision.
Manage all returnable inventories both internal and external.
Work closely with Project Management on new projects through the APQP process.
Maintain department files. Locate and resolve discrepancies in quantity, styles, weights, ASN's, etc. Effectively coordinate shipping and/or receiving issue resolutions with other departments and carriers.
Immediately report any unsafe act or condition and ensure that the PPE per area meet requirements.

Must be able to work extended hours when required

Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities Required for Consideration as a Candidate:

High School, GED or equivalent experience.
Must be able to read and understand English.
5 years' shipping experience required.
Must possess working knowledge of shipping and/or receiving systems.
Domestic transportation shipping experience required.
Oracle system experience required.
Basic understanding of financial acumen to support costing for bid package.
Above average skills in MS Office.
Basic CAD knowledge.
Additional Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

Associates Degree or equivalent work experience.
Demonstrated skills in planning, coordinating, organizing, communicating, and problem solving to include evaluating and implementing procedure changes and/or corrective actions (internal and external).
