To become an Independent Contractor or Fleet Driver for V3 Transportation, regardless of truck type applicant must:
Be at least 22 years of age;
Be able to read, write, understand and speak the English language;
At all times behave courteously and professionally
Be authorized to work in the United States; and,
Have a State issued Commercial Drivers License with appropriate endorsements. FOR STRAIGHT TRUCKS AND TRACTORS
Verifiable experience varies by asset type
Clean Driving Record
No Felony or misdemeanor convictions
No disqualifying offenses
Be in good health with no medical restrictions and the ability to pass a physical exam and pre-employment drug test.

If you are a career minded and driven to succeed, the Transportation Technician Apprentice position may be the career for you! This announcement will be used to fill an opening for a Transportation Technician Apprentice in our District 3, Marsing location. The Transportation Technician Apprentice has a 5 year horizontal career path, but could be completed in three years. Through on the job training, classroom training, achievement of team goals and agency goals, there will be opportunity to progress through a 3 Step program. After successful completion of each step, wages may increase as outlined below: * Starting wage: $14.60 * Completion of Step One: $16.75 * Completion of Step Two: $18.90 * Completion of Step Three: $21.04 Steps will be completed in 5 years. Incumbents are required to work in all weather conditions, under hazardous conditions, on obstructed roads and congested highways, in considerable noise, around operating equipment, and with hazardous materials. Frequent travel to and from work site with some overnight stay is required. Some positions require maintaining a residence within 30 minutes from their workstation. The Idaho Transportation Department requires pre-employment drug testing, and random drug and alcohol tests. This training program has been state approved for veterans education benefits. The position requires: * Class A CDL required * Position may be required to work split shifts, weekends and holidays * Pre-employment drug testing, and random drug and alcohol tests * Must live within 30 minute response time from Marsing Maintenance Shed Responsibilities: * Perform entry-level technical highway maintenance and engineering work; performs related work as required * Operate a variety of power tools and light and heavy highway and construction equipment to maintain roadways, signs, bridges and other transportation facilities * Conduct routine inspections and field tests on construction and maintenance projects * Samples materials and conducts routine material tests * Perform entry-level traffic services activities such as striping and replacing and repairing traffic signs and posts General Information: * Employees serve an apprenticeship in which they receive on-the-job instruction, classroom training, or self-study courses * This work involves working in all types of weather conditions, under hazardous conditions, on congested highways, around operating equipment and in a noisy environment * Working irregular shifts, overtime, weekends, or holidays is frequently required * Frequent travel to and from the work site with some overnight stay is required * This work involves physically demanding tasks such as clearing brush and lifting and carrying heavy objects * Applying for this job indicates that you are willing and physically able to meet the requirements as stated above * Some positions require employees to work with chemicals and toxic materials and incumbents will be required to undergo periodic biologic testing and pass medical tests while employed in these positions Minimum Qualifications: * Valid driver's license * Experience operating vehicles with manual transmissions Essential Function: An essential function of this position is driving an ITD vehicle. Three (3) moving violations Within the last twelve (12) months: 1. Accumulation of six (6) points 2. Driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs 3.
