The Sanitation Team Member will maintain all store and facility areas to ensure a clean and safe work environment for both Team Members and guests. This position will perform various daily/weekly cleaning tasks, minor repairs and projects.

Responsibilities

  • Perform duties on the daily and weekly Sanitation and Maintenance lists, and adhere to cleaning and maintenance schedules.

  • Accept and process product from the store receiver.

  • Follow established hazardous material safety procedures.

  • Keep floor clear of any dry or liquid debris.

  • Empty trash containers and replace liners.

  • Keep and maintain accurate sweep logs.

  • Use appropriate protective equipment.

  • Maintain back stock areas and coolers.

  • Dust fixtures, shelves and product.

  • Clean windows and mirrored surfaces.

  • Support all teams with cleaning projects.

  • Keep department supplies filled and maintained.

  • Keep all supply shelves clean and stocked.

  • Practice safe use of tools and equipment required by position.

  • Practice proper case and maintenance of equipment.

  • Know and practice proper lifting techniques.

  • Report safety violations and hazards immediately.

  • Participate in ordering supplies needed for store maintenance.

  • Help with any cleaning emergencies that occur in the facility.

  • Comply with all state and federal health and safety codes.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Experience cleaning in the grocery/food industry

  • Knowledge and experience performing basic maintenance

  • Knowledge of state and federal safety codes

  • Able to work well without direct supervision

  • Able to operate all necessary equipment and perform all physical requirements of the job

VIEW JOBS 4/1/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-06-30T00:00 Under limited supervision, is responsible for repairs, adjustments, and ongoing maintenance to all production and packaging mechanical equipment and facility support systems. Maintains a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly and efficient customer service to all facility department Team Member and vendors. Performs painting, and/or carpentry, repairs of fixtures and equipment on company premises. Must know equipment well enough to conduct periodic inspections to determine maintenance work required. Maintains all equipment necessary to perform work. Evaluates requests for repairs. Acts as liaison with outside contractors and is able to converse with service vendors on needed repairs. This position does not perform any electrical work that would require a licensed electrician (i.e., ballast work or wiring). 1.Conduct periodic inspections of equipment to determine maintenance work required. 2.Perform repair of manufacturing production machinery and facility support systems. 3.Utilize service manuals to troubleshoot, repair and for preventive maintenance of equipment and vendor knowledge to resolve facility issues and order parts as needed. 4.Utilize welding and fabrication knowledge to direct repairs or redesign of production processes and equipment repair work orders. 5.Operate all equipment in a safe and proper manner. Attend all applicable trainings, and be able to use or be certified in use of appropriate equipment (including forklifts, snow blowers, pallet jacks, etc.) needed for facility. 6.Resolve production equipment downtime issues with fellow Equipment Maintenance Team Members and facility leadership in a timely manner. 7.Establish and maintain collaborative and productive working relationships with production personnel and supervisors to understand and resolve maintenance issues. 8.Communicate clearly and respectfully with fellow Team Members and Team Leaders on daily production issues, work orders and project completions at the beginning and end of each shift. 9.Train new and existing Equipment Maintenance Team Members on procedures where a particular knowledge or expertise is required. 10.Follow and comply with all applicable health and sanitation procedures and adhere to safe work practices. 11.Report all life safety and fire hazards for correction, along with any other violations of company policy, and report all accidents and injuries to Store Leadership immediately. 12.Properly and accurately record time using time clock at the beginning and end of each shift and for unpaid meal breaks during shift. 13.Responsible for proper dress code, including non-slip shoes during each work shift. 14.Perform other duties as assigned by Equipment Maintenance Team Leadership. Intellectual Requirements: 1.Must have working knowledge of electrical, mechanic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and refrigeration facility support systems. 2.Ability to understand wiring diagrams and program PLCs with TMs and outside service personnel. 3.Knowledge of working in a food production environment with food safety, AIB, OSHA, QA and corporate GMP programs would be helpful. 4.Comprehension of refrigeration processes, which will include Freon AC roof top equipment and ammonia compressors. 5.Understanding of how an ammonia system operates. Ability to follow instructions and established procedures. 6.Ability to be well organized and the ability to prioritize to make good decisions, and multi-task. 7.Ability to work independently yet have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with other Team Members and Facility Leadership. 9.Ability to knowledgeably communicate with service vendors. Must be able to communicate and read in English. 10.Ability to maintain professional and appropriate conduct. Physical Requirements: 1.Must be 18 years or older and work a maximum of 8-10 hours per day. 2.Stand and walk for extended periods of time up to 4 hours without a break. 3.Bend and stoop to grasp objects and climb ladders. 4.Bend and lift loads, not to exceed 70 pounds unassisted. 5.Push and pull carts weighing up to 100 pounds unassisted. 6.Ability to perform job by repetitive use of right and left hands for simple grasping, power grasping, pushing and pulling and fine manipulation. While exact time may vary for each task, constant use may be anywhere from one to six hours during a work shift. 7.Must be able to consistently bend and twist neck and waist, reach above and below shoulders and squat during the course of a work shift. 8.Must be able to lift and carry loads up to 25 pounds regularly from 1 to over 100 feet and 26-75 pounds the same distances intermittently during the course of the work shift. 9.Ability to visually examine building for damage or wear and to use hand and small power tools to fix problems encountered. 10.Effectively communicate with other Team Members and leadership. 11.Demonstrated proficiency in the proper use of a baler, dumpster, slicers, mixers, ovens, knives and all related equipment. Work Environment 1.Environmental exposure: temperature extremes (walk-in cooler, freezer and oven) 2.May be exposed to dairy, flour, gluten, peanuts, soy, tree nuts, and wheat via inhalant or food handling. 3.May be exposed to cleaning or other commercial chemicals, cooking oils, grease, dust and other food and cooking related substances. 4.Work in a moderately noisy environment. Work on a variety of floor surfaces including tile and concrete.
