The full-time overnight Loss Prevention Officer is responsible for maintaining the safety and security of our guests, employees and hotel, while maintaining a cordial and professional demeanor according to LHW and Hotel Granduca standards.

Handle all shipping and receiving duties

Log and work with Concierge and Front Desk to deliver packages and mail in a timely manner

Collaborate with HRD and GM to conduct investigations while maintaining confidentiality

Document and organize all Lost & Found items and monitor retention time

Maintain confidentiality of all reports and release information only to authorized individuals

Conduct and log scheduled patrol of hotel and area at designated times throughout shift

Monitor vehicle parking and assist valet as needed

Complete and log daily incidents and events

Maintain visibility throughout hotel and grounds

Promptly investigate disturbances or unusual activities and inform management. Call 911 as required

Monitor surveillance cameras throughout shift

Escort guests to designated areas and assist with key entry

Maintain accurate key control logs and distribute keys to authorized employees

Collaborate with Engineering on evacuation procedures during fire drills or natural disasters

Conduct fire drills as required

Maintain awareness of operations and activities in hotel and surrounding areas

Ensure the safety of hotel, guests and employees

Participate in monthly Safety meetings and other scheduled meetings

Conduct Safety briefings as requested at events and meetings

Assist HR with compliance of all OSHA, F/S, and TABC regulations

Practice and enforce the Daily Core Values and 3 Steps of service

Conduct locker and bag checks as required

Maintain a calm and professional demeanor to reflect the culture of Hotel Granduca and LHW standards

Issue and retrieve keys, parking passes, lockers, uniforms and maintain organized and neat logs

Maintain communication with team and supervisor and maintain accurate Reports, pass-down logs and checklists

Perform other duties as assigned


Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent

At least 1 year related experience in a full service hotel or luxury hotel

Must possess excellent command and comprehension of English - verbal and written


  • English/Spanish preferred

Proficiency with computers and Microsoft office

  • Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerpointExcellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with internal and external guests

Maintain a positive, cordial and professional demeanor at all times

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

Maintain knowledge of the hotel layout, rooms, service areas, hours of operations, location of all emergency equipment and local area

Maintain knowledge of daily events, occupancy, VIP's and special needs

Excellent telephone, email etiquette and organizational skills

Ability to multi-task and complete projects in a timely manner

Ability to effectively communicate and interact with individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds and ethnicities

Must be able to remain calm and think clearly in all situations

Must be 1st Aid/CPR certified

Able to lift, push, pull, carry at least 50 lbs

Must be able to walk, stand for long periods, run, sit, bend, crouch, run, reach Must be able to work primarily overnight shifts but may be required to work other shifts based on business demands

As a Loss Prevention Agent your primary responsibility is to create a safe and secure environment for all employees and guests. Providing safety education, enforcing company standards and promoting the highest level of profit protection while also maintaining the client advocate position for all guests whenever possible. Responsibilities: * Arrive for duty on time and as assigned by the Department schedules posted in the LPO office; * Monitor and walk all portions of the hotel property; * Walk all hotel guest floors at least twice in a security shift; * Provide assistance in any manner that is needed to assist in the Kimpton experience; * Greet guests in a polite and attentive manner to ensure we are representing the company properly; * Assist guests with room access; ADA access; Safe Lockouts, etc.; * Monitor Closed Circuit Televisions, perimeter alarm system, duress (Area of Refuge) alarms, and fire life safety systems; * Lock/unlock property entrances as required; * Conduct daily physical hazard inspections; * Respond to any workplace accident involving employees or guests; * Assist guests/employees during emergency situations or evacuations; * Notify appropriate individuals in the event of accidents, attacks, or other incidents; * Defuse guest/employee disturbances and request outside resources if violence occurred/occurs; * Call for outside assistance if necessary when Police, EMS, or Fire services are needed; * Complete incident reports to document ALL Security/Life-Safety/Loss Prevention related incidents; * Handle safety and security related interruptions and complaints as dispatched to or observed; * Resolve safety hazard situations and follow up with proper notifications; * Escort any unwelcome persons from the property without interrupting the orderly flow of property operation; * Report to scenes of vehicle accidents/thefts and assist as needed; * Call for assistance from other team members or outside resources as needed; * Complete a Loss Prevention daily activity report in the last hour of shift; * Maintain confidentiality of all Security/Loss Prevention and property reports/documents (proprietary information); * Release incident information when authorized by the Loss Prevention Director; * Conduct investigations and gather evidence; * Conduct interviews with relevant parties; * Follow all company policies and procedures as well as Best Practices/Directives given by the Loss Prevention Director; * Complete and email an Incident Report to the Director on all LPO responses in the hotel or for any actions taken by the LPO Team; * Complete an Employee Injury Investigation Report packet for any reported/known work related injury; * Report any unsafe work conditions to the Director of Loss Prevention and Director of Engineering via email if not emergent in nature; * Complete safety training and certifications as directed or required for the position; * Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean, orderly, and professionally presentable; * Focus on the Guest experiences, making every effort to make people feel welcome; * Assist with baggage check when asked, as well as other Department responsibilities when needed; * Speak with others using clear and professional language, maintaining a polite demeanor; * Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, supporting other departments to reach common goals; * Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards; * Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time; * Summon help or assistance when needed; * Follow all Standard Operating Procedures and Shift Duty Expectations as directed; * And will Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors or Management, or at the Director of Loss Prevention request.
