GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY: to complete all mechanical, plumbing, electrical or any other tasks that is assigned from the Facilities Department
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assist all departments in repairs of facilities to maintain day to day operation
Be able to maintain a preventive maintenance program on equipment in the facility
Be able to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and plumbing problems and correct them
Access part and availability and schedule repair jobs accordingly
Work with and assist contractors who work in the facility
Oversee the security of the facility
Schedule work projects and assist Utility person as needed
Assist the custodians with special projects as needed
Provide training for the custodians as needed
Assist the lead person on days with the ordering of any supplies
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform any reasonable task requested by the engineering department
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED :
Knowledge of electrical, plumbing and mechanical
Basic knowledge of painting and carpentry
Ability to work with others in a team environment and be able to work alone
Able to stand, bend, squat, kneel and sit for extended lengths of time
Able to lift and carry 60 pounds
Able to work with arms extended overhead
Able to work in high elevation areas with a harness
Able to use electrical tools (drills power saws, welders, grinders, floor polishers, vacuums, and carpet extractors)
Able to read blueprints and schematics
Must be computer literate (knowledge of Windows, and Word)
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including night, holidays, weekends and graveyard
Must be able to successfully complete industrial first aid/CPR training OSHA 10 class
Knowledge of codes and practices involving safety procedures.
Must be able to successfully complete the training and execution of fire, life, safety and emergency operations plan for the facility.
Knowledge of city and fire department codes and policies.
Knowledge of commercial building control systems.
Knowledge of elevator, electrical, mechanical and building emergency systems.
Ability to troubleshoot and devise creative solutions.
Ability to consistently meet deadlines.
Strong organizational, motivational and communication (written and verbal) skills.
The vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Must be comfortable at high elevations and in close quarters.
Full Time, Hourly Position
Hourly Rate: $24.00 - $27.00 / hour DOE
