Position Scope/Summary:

Operate machines and equipment used in the manufacturing of products and will work with other employees to effectively meet or exceed expectations for product quality and production rates.

Machine Operators must have knowledge of how to set up, operate and maintain manufacturing machinery and equipment.

Machine Operators must also have knowledge of visual and dimensional inspection techniques

Position Requirements:

Operate machinery and equipment used in the manufacture of products

Read and follow operating manuals, maintenance instructions and procedures.

Load component materials into product specific tools.

Follow established documentation for product manufacturing.

Receive customer supplied and/or purchased materials, including proper labeling, handling and movement of materials and paperwork.

Document all work performed on inspection reports and customer travelers/work orders and receiving/shipping documents.

Maintain the segregation of conforming vs. non-conforming product.

Prepare packages and paperwork for product/materials being shipped.

Performs in-process inspection of all parts and/or assemblies in accordance with the requirements stated in the work order or as otherwise stated on drawings or work instructions.

Performs visual inspection both unaided and using microscopes.

Performs various dimensional inspection using specific dies or gauges, or dimensional inspection systems and micrometers.

Provides direction within the manufacturing cell to other Machine Operators assigned to assist them.

Ability to perform most manufacturing set up tasks.

Performs additional duties as required under the direction of the Film Cast Manager and Production Supervisor.

Environmental Working Conditions:

Employee must comply with all safety policies and safe work procedures established by the company. Job tasks may also involve:

Using personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, goggles, gloves, and other equipment as established in company policies and safe work procedures.

Working with cutting & machining fluids, solvents, lubricants and other hazardous chemicals using appropriate safety controls.

Lifting up to 50 pounds. Occasionally move and/or lift up to 1000 pounds (with assistance)

Frequent carrying, bending, standing, sitting, and repetitive motion.

Qualifications:

A basic knowledge of operating machinery and equipment in a manufacturing environment.

Knowledge of drawings and blueprints with an ability to interpret information.

Addendum:

Oven Operator I has the general responsibility for operating oven systems used in the manufacturing of products sold to our customers.

Oven Operator I are expected to work to effectively to meet or exceed expectations for product quality and production rates.

Oven Operator I must have a basic knowledge of how to set up, operate and maintain ovens and peripheral manufacturing equipment and have knowledge of visual and dimensional inspection techniques.

Has the responsibility of following established documentation for product manufacturing.

Must accurately document all work performed per established work instructions.

Maintain the segregation of conforming vs. non-conforming product.

Performs in-process inspection of all parts and/or assemblies in accordance with the requirements stated in the work instructions.

Performs various dimensional inspection using specific dies or gauges, or dimensional inspection systems and micrometers.

Performs additional duties as required under the direction of the Manufacturing Manager and/or Production Supervisor.

Adheres to safety guidelines.

Maintains cleanliness of work areas, machines, tools and equipment.

Responsible for recognizing quality issues and communicating these issues to the Manufacturing Manager, Assistant Manufacturing Manager , and Manufacturing Supervisor.

Assists in ensuring the correctness of Set Up sheets and In-Process Check Sheets.

Acts as a resource during audits or customer visits for questions and answers or practical demonstrations.

Performs job duties with little or no assistance or supervision.

Proficient in the operation of computerized laser micrometer, Infinity QS, and Oracle shop floor transactions.

Has the primary function of operating manufacturing ovens used in the manufacture of products sold to our customers. Must be proficient with at least one product family.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Perform several of the tasks and procedures required to move jobs through the department in a timely manner. * Assist with maintaining and updating production and material control systems as needed to ensure proper job and material tracking is maintained * Complete off-schedule notifications. * Maintain work area and equipment in a clean, neat, and organized fashion. * Control non-conforming product in accordance with documented procedures and verify timely corrective and preventative action. * Protect product during handling and storage in the performance of work. * Participate in internal quality audits to verify compliance with documented procedures and specifications, record results and verify audit corrective action. * Comply with and reinforce the requirements of the Quality Manual and Standard Operating Procedures, ISO 9002, FDA Quality System Regulations and other customer standards. * Follow Occupational Safety and Health regulations, including laser safety practices. * Performs job duties with little or no supervision or assistance. * Maintain the segregation of conforming vs. non-conforming product. * Maintain product identification and traceability. * Performs additional duties as required under the direction of the Operations Manager and Production Supervisor. Proficiency in the use of measuring and test equipment required. Prior experience in the use of PC's and Microsoft Office software applications required. Certificate(s) of training related to this field of work (medical device industry or quality assurance) desired. The ability to use various measuring devices including micrometers, laser micrometers, electronic balance, calipers, length measurement scales, and pin gages required. Ability to effectively communicate with other operators required. Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with a wide variety of equipment required. The ability to strictly adhere to Standard Operating Procedures, including all safety, health, and environmental procedures required. Knowledge of basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, proportions, and fractions required.
