GBS BUILDING SUPPLY DRYWALL HAS AN IMMEDIATE OPENING FOR AN OUTSIDE SALES REPRESENTATIVE
SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS
The Outside Salesperson must be able to prepare priced material lists for construction projects and interact with customers to sell building materials. The list must be accurate in quantity and prices must be competitive.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, INCLUDED BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
Should always seek new accounts to benefit the company, while maintaining a relationship with existing accounts.
Stay informed on your accounts and keep management informed on any problem areas (i.e. credit issues, etc.).
Preparing estimates of the quantity and price of materials to be used in the building from information contained on blue print drawings.
Review estimate with the customer at the time of sale.
Preparation of material delivery tickets in a manner that allows the yard foreman to schedule deliveries.
Review estimate versus actual materials used with the customer at the end of the job.
Complete all required paperwork to protect GBS Building Supplys ability to collect payment for goods sold.
Demonstrate the ability to tactfully handle difficult situations.
Demonstrate good judgment in respecting the confidentiality of customer, company and personnel information.
Demonstrate good judgment and reasoning in investigating and solving problems.
Quote prices and help with general building questions over the phone.
Maintain cooperative working relationships with fellow employees.
Attend seminars, vendor product showings and GBS Building Supply functions to help further product knowledge, better serve our customers and to build a team environment.
Attend Home Shows, Parade of Homes and other events that promote your position in sales and GBS Supplys offerings to help grow & secure future business.
Seek guidance and direction in the performance of responsibilities and duties.
Adhere to company policies and procedures
Must follow all safety procedures
Perform other functions as assigned by her/his supervisor
Must be knowledgeable of product and materials used in building to sell and properly complete the estimate
Must be able to operate a computer
Must be able to follow-up on orders
Must have a basic knowledge of math
Must have highly developed interpersonal skills
Must be detail oriented and handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
Must be able to climb up and down a ladder, reach, bend, twist, kneel, lift up to 50lbs., and handle large odd shaped items, and stock items in overhead areas
Must be able to work a flexible schedule
Must have prior selling experience
College degree preferred
Must have the ability to travel to customer sites
