Ferguson is seeking a shown Outside Sales Representative in Oregon & SW Washington working with our Plant Division to fill an immediate need with growing market opportunities. Treatment plant contractors across North America come to Ferguson for our experience and reliability in the waterworks industry.

Job Function and Responsibilities

  • Work with the Plant Division in Oregon & SW Washington collaborating with local teams to provide project quotation and proposals.

  • Develop and manage relationships with vendors and assigned customer base, including key accounts.

  • Be part of the problem-solving process, have conversations regarding changing market conditions with vendors & customers.

  • Supervise sales trends and product knowledge to develop market specific pricing from Pre-Bid to Post Bid.

  • Continually improve sales skills and product knowledge to promote a professional image in the field

  • Ability to read and understand construction documents including project specifications, drawings, and change orders

  • Work with other branch personnel to ensure customer happiness from the order to the delivery and beyond

  • Work with Pre-bid and Post-bid teams to ensure accurate scope coverage for customers

  • Own your projects from start to finish with collaboration of specific team members

  • Ability to negotiate with vendors and Manufactures


  • 5+ years industry related sales experience is required

  • A successful associate will be results oriented, self-motivated, able to complete tasks in a timely manner, build relationships and enjoy a team environment

  • Strong technical background and experience in water and / or wastewater industry preferred

  • Excellent communication, time management and organizational skills

  • Problem solving, leadership and listening skills

  • General digital literacy

  • Travel required with overnight trips

Compensation for this role includes an annual base salary plus sales commission.

This position drives customer value with all AMO Premium products (TMF, Toric, and LOIs). In addition to serving as the lead for practice education/promotion of Premium products, this position plays a major role in customer retention, satisfaction, and add-on sales. This position works in collaboration with Account Executives, Phaco Specialists and the Catalys Sales team and is supported by the District Manager &amp; Director in helping develop strategies to gain new Catalys /Premium Customers.</p><p>Core Job Responsibilities</p><ul><li><p>Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.</p></li><li><p>Works closely with the District Manager &amp; fellow AMO Catalys Laser Sales Managers to maximize efforts to identify new customers, maintain existing customers, address outstanding customer needs and provide feedback for improvement.</p></li><li><p>Delivers proactive customer contact strategy to drive adoption of Catalyst and Premium AMO products.</p></li><li><p>Increases customer satisfaction by understanding customer business needs and implementing programs to drive adoption/education of AMO Premium products.</p></li><li><p>Monitors and tracks expected vs. actual product usage.</p></li><li><p>Provides overflow support for Application Support Managers (training).</p></li><li><p>When needed, attends Trade Shows and meetings (e.g. AAO, ASCRS, etc.) throughout the year</p></li></ul><p>Qualifications</p><p>Position Accountability / Scope</p><p>The position reports directly to the District Manager. Must be able to build meaningful relationships with both internal &amp; external stakeholders. Excellent computer skills with efficient use of Excel, MS-Word and PowerPoint. The ability to create and edit large scale PowerPoint presentations are a must. Position will interface with Physicians/Administrators/Nurse Managers and Purchasing and be expected to understand all aspects of cross departmental selling. The PPS should have a broad understanding of Premium IOLs, practice adoption concepts, and the ability to work well within diverse settings (Practice, ASCs, and Meetings).
