POSITION PURPOSE

HDE Sales Consultants (SC) are primarily responsible for selling Home Depot's do-it-for-me services to clients in their homes. Sales Consultants spend the majority of their time traveling to and engaging in professional sales presentations in customers homes.

While at customers homes, SCs assess customer needs, recommend products that fulfill those needs, develop price quotes and present warranty information and financing options. They work with customers to complete the necessary sales contracts and paperwork. Sales Consultants are also responsible for generating leads inside their assigned stores and during scheduled lead generation events, maintaining relationships with assigned stores in an effort to drive their sales, attending meetings and participating in and/or facilitating training on HDE products and service offerings. Sales Consultants earn commissions based on their sales and are also eligible for monthly bonuses based on sales performance.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
80%- Conduct professional sales presentations inside customers homes. Complete assessment of customer needs while at their home. Present warranty and available financing options to customers. Prepare for appointments, commute to/from appointments and process sales-related paperwork.
20%- Generate leads at assigned store. Participate in scheduled lead generation events. Develop/maintain relationships with store management and associates. Attend branch/team meetings. Attend store meetings and facilitate/participate in training on HDE products and service offerings.

NATURE AND SCOPE

This position reports to a Sales Manager.

This position has no direct reports.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Environment: Usually in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort from such things as dust, fumes or odors.

Travel: Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must be eighteen years of age or older.

Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required: The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 1 years

Physical Requirements:
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior in-home sales experience

Prior home improvement industry experience

Prior experience with successful lead generation

Computer and application skills and use of varied technology (email, iPad, apps, etc.)

Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

Excellent presentation skills

Strong customer service skills

ASSISTANT MANAGER MERCHANDISE Job Summary Responsible for overseeing the merchandising department, managing merchandise display and signing, ensuring inventory levels are sufficient to achieve sales, establishing operational efficiencies, maintaining policies and procedures, delivering a positive service experience to Members, and providing leadership and direction within the club. The manager is responsible to function as the Manager on Duty (MOD) as assigned. The manager could be assigned as MOD 50% or more of the manager's scheduled shifts. Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities * Maintains an understanding of club policies and procedures across all areas of the club. Provides leadership and direction to all departments within the club. * Collaborates with other Assistant Managers to assess Team Member performance, provide actionable feedback and develop talent. Assists in hiring and training and administers corrective action as needed. * Evaluates departmental performance using company reporting programs and makes operational decisions to maximize sales, profits, and performance. * Responsible for the effective communication of departmental activities to club Team Members, club management and club support teams. * Manages merchandise display and signing processes and ensures adequate inventory levels are maintained to achieve sales goals. * Collaborates with merchandise team to ensure overnight shifts are successfully led and to identify merchandising sales growth opportunities. * Continually monitors customer service levels and ensures a positive service experience is delivered to all Members. * Establishes operational efficiencies and productivity standards within the department and reviews budgets, plans and P&L to identify profit opportunities. * Responsible for the proper maintenance and working order of the building, equipment, furniture and fixtures within the club. * Serve as the designated forklift trainer for the club. * Responsible for steel and pallet safety. Qualifications * Basic computer knowledge (MS Word, MS Excel, Email) required. * Forklift operator preferred. * High school diploma, college degree, and/or big box wholesale, retail, grocery and/or management experience is preferred. * Previous merchandising experience in a retail, grocery or warehouse club required. * Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including managing/supervising cross-functional teams, training team members, and driving and communicating results. * Open shift availability required. * At least 18 years of age. Job Conditions * Most of the time is spent moving about frequently on hard surfaces. There may be a need to occasionally position oneself to examine or scan merchandise, including bending, handling, pulling, reaching, and/or stooping. * Frequently requires lifting objects up to 30 pounds. May require lifting and moving heavy and/or awkward objects in excess of 30 pounds with assistance. * May require working occasional overnight, or early morning shifts. * Located in a comfortable indoor area with frequent exposure to temperature extremes and loud noises.
