Outside Sales Representative - Ground Protection

Ground Protection is a new and growing Specialty Business within Sunbelt Rentals offering temporary flooring, access, and field covers to the Special Event industry, and temporary access roadways and pad sites primarily to the Construction, Power Transmission, Alternative Energy, and Oil & Gas industries. This often includes the design, setup and management of turnkey projects in a contractor-like capacity. Through a consultative and collaborative approach, the Outside Sales Representative's primary mission is to develop and maximize Ground Protection market share in certain sectors within their assigned territory or region. The services provided by this business include after-hours response which could result in work outside of regularly scheduled hours.
Duties / Sales Responsibilities:
Develop assigned territory via personal prospecting, cold-calling, qualifying leads, and following up on referrals.
Gather, organize, and analyse information on assigned territory, accounts and competitors; create and periodically update business plans and strategies for growth of territory and accounts.
Collaborate with Profit Center Manager and Ground Protection leadership team to develop and execute strategic account plans in order to build successful partnerships with our customers and position Sunbelt for sustainable growth
Provide sales support, training, and coordinate work with Outside Sales Representatives in the General Tool and other Specialty Businesses with regards to Ground Protection.
Establishing and managing trusted customer relationships and account development.
Generate and provide bids, proposals and qualifications for Ground Protection products and services within assigned territory.
Successfully generate targeted quarterly and annual revenues for assigned territory
Effectively working across our Specialty Business and the broader Sunbelt organization to coordinate sales efforts, manage and grow customer accounts, and communicate with operations personnel, customer service representatives, and other internal stakeholders in effectively serving our customers
Investigate and resolve any issues including contract, invoice, service, etc.
Review customer's accounts with accounts receivable on a monthly basis and resolve any issues.
Develop quotes by doing field measurements, take-offs, and estimating labor requirements.
Customer management. Keep our customer informed and "in the loop" at all times while each job progresses.
Represent Ground Protection and Sunbelt in cross-functional initiatives, industry functions and trade shows
Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned
Documented history of achieving sales targets including the closure of large, complex solutions sales
Customer service experience required.
Knowledge of different phases of construction, equipment applications, features, benefits, operation and specifications required.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, along with effective supervisory skills.
Able to lift, bend, stoop, squat, reach, crouch and kneel.
Computer literate, including CRM, Windows, Adobe Acrobat, and the Microsoft Office suite of products
Desire and ability for moderate travel
Education and Work Experience:
5-7 years of experience in sales, account management, business development, and/or managing business relationships
Bachelor's degree in marketing, finance, business administration or 5 years' equivalent work experience required
