ACF West Inc. is seeking an Outside Sales Representative responsible for growing sales in the mid to lower Willamette Valley selling geosynthetic materials, and other erosion related products to contractors, dealers, and property owners. Will capture new customer sales, promote products with contractors, consult engineers and municipalities to achieve pull through business.

Requirements

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Compiles list of prospective customers for use of sales leads.
  • Enter/updates customer data and other pertinent sales information for current & prospective customers and influencers in company database.
  • Travels throughout assigned territory to call on existing and prospective customers to solicit orders.
  • Demonstrates product line.
  • Performs project take-offs, according to engineering plans, utilizing online plan centers.
  • Quotes prices and credit terms to prospective customers and enters sales orders in company database.
  • Estimates date of delivery to customer and arranges logistics in coordination with internal shipping team.
  • Enters details of business transactions and keeps expense accounts, due monthly.
  • Works closely with inside sales representatives, purchasing and warehouse staff.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with purchasing contacts.
  • Investigates and resolves customer problems.
  • Attends trade shows.
  • Prepares an annual sales budget with guidance from sales management.
  • Visits job sites to work with customers on pull through sales opportunities.
  • Performs market research on new product opportunities.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to question from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as discounts, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. The ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Other Skills/Certification

Microsoft Suite--Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint (Intermediate and Advanced) Job specific training for effectiveness in current position and/or career advancement in particular field (i.e., Management/supervisory skills, sales skills are provided through company provided trainings sessions--High-performance selling, etc. are also available. A valid Drivers License in State of residence required.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems; collect data, establish facts, and draw valid, conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety to technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
